Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unsrem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!

Gracia sea á vosotros, y paz de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ich danke meinem Gott, so oft ich euer gedenke,

Doy gracias á mi Dios en toda memoria de vosotros,

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

allezeit, in jedem Gebet für euch alle, indem ich das Gebet mit Freuden tue

Siempre en todas mis oraciones haciendo oración por todos vosotros con gozo,

Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,

always in every request of mine on behalf of you all, making my requests with joy,

wegen eurer Gemeinschaft am Evangelium vom ersten Tage an bis jetzt,

Por vuestra comunión en el evangelio, desde el primer día hasta ahora:

For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now;

und weil ich davon überzeugt bin, daß der, welcher in euch ein gutes Werk angefangen hat, es auch vollenden wird bis auf den Tag Jesu Christi.

Estando confiado de esto, que el que comenzó en vosotros la buena obra, la perfeccionará hasta el día de Jesucristo;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Es ist ja nur billig, daß ich so von euch allen denke, weil ich euch im Herzen trage, sowohl in meinen Banden als auch bei der Verteidigung und Bekräftigung des Evangeliums, damit ihr alle mit mir der Gnade teilhaftig seid.

Como me es justo sentir esto de todos vosotros, por cuanto os tengo en el corazón; y en mis prisiones, y en la defensa y confirmación del evangelio, sois todos vosotros compañeros de mi gracia.

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

Denn Gott ist mein Zeuge, wie mich nach euch allen verlangt in der herzlichen Liebe Jesu Christi.

Porque Dios me es testigo de cómo os amo á todos vosotros en las entrañas de Jesucristo.

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

Und um das bitte ich, daß eure Liebe noch mehr und mehr reich werde an Erkenntnis und allem Empfindungsvermögen,

Y esto ruego, que vuestro amor abunde aun más y más en ciencia y en todo conocimiento,

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

damit ihr zu prüfen vermöget, worauf es ankommt, so daß ihr lauter und unanstößig seid auf den Tag Jesu Christi,

Para que discernáis lo mejor; que seáis sinceros y sin ofensa para el día de Cristo;

That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,

erfüllt mit Frucht der Gerechtigkeit, die durch Jesus Christus †gewirkt wird zur Ehre und zum Lobe Gottes.

Llenos de frutos de justicia, que son por Jesucristo, á gloria y loor de Dios.

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Ich will aber, Brüder, daß ihr wisset, wie alles, was mir begegnet ist, nur mehr zur Förderung des Evangeliums ausgeschlagen hat

Y quiero, hermanos, que sepáis que las cosas que me han sucedido, han redundado más en provecho del evangelio;

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;

Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News,

so daß in der ganzen kaiserlichen Kaserne und bei den übrigen allen bekannt geworden ist, daß ich um Christi willen gebunden bin,

De manera que mis prisiones han sido célebres en Cristo en todo el pretorio, y á todos los demás;

So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;

so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ,

und daß die Mehrzahl der Brüder im Herrn, durch meine Bande ermutigt, es desto kühner wagen, das Wort Gottes zu reden ohne Furcht;

Y muchos de los hermanos en el Señor, tomando ánimo con mis prisiones, se atreven mucho más á hablar la palabra sin temor.

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.

etliche predigen zwar Christus auch aus Neid und Streitsucht, andere aber aus guter Gesinnung:

Y algunos, á la verdad, predican á Cristo por envidia y porfía; mas algunos también por buena voluntad.

Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.

diese aus Liebe, weil sie wissen, daß ich zur Verteidigung des Evangeliums bestimmt bin;

Los unos anuncian á Cristo por contención, no sinceramente, pensando añadir aflicción á mis prisiones;

The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;

jene aber, die es aus Parteisucht tun, verkündigen Christus nicht lauter, da sie beabsichtigen, meinen Banden noch Trübsal hinzuzufügen.

Pero los otros por amor, sabiendo que soy puesto por la defensa del evangelio.

But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.

Was tut es? Wenn nur auf alle Weise, sei es zum Vorwand oder in Wahrheit, Christus verkündigt wird, so freue ich mich darüber und will mich auch freuen!

¿Qué pues? Que no obstante, en todas maneras, ó por pretexto ó por verdad, es anunciado Cristo; y en esto me huelgo, y aun me holgaré.

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.

Denn ich weiß, daß mir das zum Heil ausschlagen wird durch eure Fürbitte und die Handreichung des Geistes Jesu Christi,

Porque sé que esto se me tornará á salud, por vuestra oración, y por la suministración del Espíritu de Jesucristo;

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

For I know that this will turn out to my salvation through your prayers and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

nach meiner Erwartung und Hoffnung, daß ich in nichts zuschanden werde, sondern daß in aller Freimütigkeit, wie allezeit, so auch jetzt, Christus hochgepriesen werde an meinem Leibe, es sei durch Leben oder durch Tod.

Conforme á mi mira y esperanza, que en nada seré confundido; antes bien con toda confianza, como siempre, ahora también será engrandecido Cristo en mi cuerpo, ó por vida, ó por muerte.

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Denn für mich ist Christus das Leben, und das Sterben ist mein Gewinn.

Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo, y el morir es ganancia.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Wenn aber das Leben im Fleische mir Gelegenheit gibt zu fruchtbarer Wirksamkeit, so weiß ich nicht, was ich wählen soll.

Mas si el vivir en la carne, esto me será para fruto de la obra, no sé entonces qué escoger;

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.

Denn ich werde von beidem bedrängt: Ich habe Lust, abzuscheiden und bei Christus zu sein, was auch viel besser wäre;

Porque de ambas cosas estoy puesto en estrecho, teniendo deseo de ser desatado, y estar con Cristo, lo cual es mucho mejor:

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

aber es ist nötiger, im Fleische zu bleiben um euretwillen.

Empero quedar en la carne es más necesario por causa de vosotros.

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

Yet to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

Und weil ich davon überzeugt bin, so weiß ich, daß ich bleiben werde; und ich will †auch gerne bei euch allen verbleiben zu eurer Förderung und Freude im Glauben,

Y confiado en esto, sé que quedaré, que aun permaneceré con todos vosotros, para provecho vuestro y gozo de la fe;

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,

damit ihr um soviel mehr zu rühmen habet in Christus Jesus meinethalben, wegen meiner erneuten Anwesenheit bei euch.

Para que crezca vuestra gloria de mí en Cristo Jesús por mi venida otra vez á vosotros.

That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.

Wandelt nur würdig des Evangeliums Christi, damit, ob ich komme und euch sehe, oder abwesend bin, ich von euch höre, daß ihr feststehet in einem Geiste und einmütig miteinander kämpfet für den Glauben des Evangeliums

Solamente que converséis como es digno del evangelio de Cristo; para que, ó sea que vaya á veros, ó que esté ausente, oiga de vosotros que estáis firmes en un mismo espíritu, unánimes combatiendo juntamente por la fe del evangelio,

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

und euch in keiner Weise einschüchtern lasset von den Widersachern, was für sie eine Anzeige des Verderbens, für euch aber des Heils ist, und zwar von Gott.

Y en nada intimidados de los que se oponen: que á ellos ciertamente es indicio de perdición, mas á vosotros de salud; y esto de Dios;

And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.

and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

Denn euch wurde in bezug auf Christus die Gnade verliehen, nicht nur an ihn zu glauben, sondern auch um seinetwillen zu leiden,

Porque á vosotros es concedido por Cristo, no sólo que creáis en él, sino también que padezcáis por él,

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,

indem ihr denselben Kampf habt, den ihr an mir sahet und nun von mir höret.

Teniendo el mismo conflicto que habéis visto en mí, y ahora oís estar en mí.

Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
