Por tanto, si sienten algún ánimo en Cristo, si hay algún consuelo en su amor, si hay alguna comunión en el Espíritu, si hay alguna ternura y compasión,
POR tanto, si hay alguna consolación en Cristo; si algún refrigerio de amor; si alguna comunión del Espíritu; si algunas entrañas y misericordias,
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

colmen mi alegría teniendo un mismo pensar, un mismo amor, unidos en alma y propósito.

Tengan la misma actitud que tuvo Cristo Jesús:

Él, siendo por naturaleza Dios, no consideró el ser igual a Dios como algo a qué aferrarse.
El cual, siendo en forma de Dios, no tuvo por usurpación ser igual á Dios:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Por el contrario, se rebajó voluntariamente, tomando la naturaleza de siervo y haciéndose semejante a los seres humanos.
Sin embargo, se anonadó á sí mismo, tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante á los hombres;
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Y, al manifestarse como hombre, se humilló a sí mismo y se hizo obediente hasta la muerte, ¡y muerte de cruz!

Pues Dios es quien produce en ustedes tanto el querer como el hacer, para que se cumpla su buena voluntad.

para que sean intachables y puros, hijos de Dios sin culpa en medio de una generación torcida y perversa. En ella ustedes brillan como estrellas en el mundo,
Para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin culpa en medio de la nación maligna y perversa, entre los cuales resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo;
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,
manteniendo en alto la palabra de vida. Así, en el día de Cristo me sentiré orgulloso de no haber corrido ni trabajado en vano.

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Y aunque mi vida sea derramada como ofrenda sobre el sacrificio y el servicio que provienen de la fe de ustedes, me alegro y comparto mi alegría con todos ustedes.

De igual manera, también ustedes deben alegrarse y compartir su alegría conmigo.

Confío en el Señor Jesús que pronto podré enviarles a Timoteo, para que yo también me anime al recibir noticias suyas.

But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

Pero ustedes conocen bien la probada virtud de Timoteo, que ha servido a mi lado en la obra del evangelio, como un hijo junto a su padre.
Pero la experiencia de él habéis conocido, que como hijo á padre ha servido conmigo en el evangelio.
But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
Por eso espero enviarlo tan pronto como vea cómo se resuelven mis asuntos.
Así que á éste espero enviaros, luego que yo viere cómo van mis negocios;
Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

Él los extrañaba mucho a todos, y estaba muy angustiado porque ustedes se enteraron de que se había enfermado.

For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

porque estuvo a punto de morir por la obra de Cristo, arriesgando su vida para suplir la ayuda que ustedes no podían brindarme en persona.
Porque por la obra de Cristo estuvo cercano á la muerte, poniendo su vida para suplir vuestra falta en mi servicio.
Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
