Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, any solace of charity, any fellowship of the Spirit, any feelings of commiseration:

POR tanto, si hay alguna consolación en Cristo; si algún refrigerio de amor; si alguna comunión del Espíritu; si algunas entrañas y misericordias,

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,

complete my joy by having the same understanding, holding to the same charity, being of one mind, with the same sentiment.

Cumplid mi gozo; que sintáis lo mismo, teniendo el mismo amor, unánimes, sintiendo una misma cosa.

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

Let nothing be done by contention, nor in vain glory. Instead, in humility, let each of you esteem others to be better than himself.

Nada hagáis por contienda ó por vanagloria; antes bien en humildad, estimándoos inferiores los unos á los otros:

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;

Let each of you not consider anything to be your own, but rather to belong to others.

No mirando cada uno á lo suyo propio, sino cada cual también á lo de los otros.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.

For this understanding in you was also in Christ Jesus:

Haya, pues, en vosotros este sentir que hubo también en Cristo Jesús:

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,

who, though he was in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be seized.

El cual, siendo en forma de Dios, no tuvo por usurpación ser igual á Dios:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,

Instead, he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and accepting the state of a man.

Sin embargo, se anonadó á sí mismo, tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante á los hombres;

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.

He humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, even the death of the Cross.

Y hallado en la condición como hombre, se humilló á sí mismo, hecho obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.

Because of this, God has also exalted him and has given him a name which is above every name,

Por lo cual Dios también le ensalzó á lo sumo, y dióle un nombre que es sobre todo nombre;

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,

so that, at the name of Jesus, every knee would bend, of those in heaven, of those on earth, and of those in hell,

Para que en el nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla de los que están en los cielos, y de los que en la tierra, y de los que debajo de la tierra;

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,

and so that every tongue would confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.

Y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es el Señor, á la gloria de Dios Padre.

And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

And so, my most beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but even more so now in my absence: work toward your salvation with fear and trembling.

Por tanto, amados míos, como siempre habéis obedecido, no como en mi presencia solamente, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia, ocupaos en vuestra salvación con temor y temblor;

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For it is God who works in you, both so as to choose, and so as to act, in accord with his good will.

Porque Dios es el que en vosotros obra así el querer como el hacer, por su buena voluntad.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

For it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

And do everything without murmuring or hesitation.

Haced todo sin murmuraciones y contiendas,

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Do all things without complaining and arguing,

So may you be without blame, simple sons of God, without reproof, in the midst of a depraved and perverse nation, among whom you shine like lights in the world,

Para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin culpa en medio de la nación maligna y perversa, entre los cuales resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo;

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,

holding to the Word of Life, until my glory in the day of Christ. For I have not run in vain, nor have I labored in vain.

Reteniendo la palabra de vida para que yo pueda gloriarme en el día de Cristo, que no he corrido en vano, ni trabajado en vano.

Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

holding up the word of life, that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ that I didn’t run in vain nor labor in vain.

Moreover, if I am to be immolated because of the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and give thanks with all of you.

Y aun si soy derramado en libación sobre el sacrificio y servicio de vuestra fe, me gozo y congratulo por todos vosotros.

Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.

And over this same thing, you also should rejoice and give thanks, together with me.

Y asimismo gozaos también vosotros, y regocijaos conmigo.

For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

In the same way, you also should be glad and rejoice with me.

Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, in order that I may be encouraged, when I know the things concerning you.

Mas espero en el Señor Jesús enviaros presto á Timoteo, para que yo también esté de buen ánimo, entendido vuestro estado.

But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.

But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.

For I have no one else with such an agreeable mind, who, with sincere affection, is solicitous for you.

Porque á ninguno tengo tan unánime, y que con sincera afición esté solícito por vosotros.

For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.

For they all seek the things that are of themselves, not the things that are of Jesus Christ.

Porque todos buscan lo suyo propio, no lo que es de Cristo Jesús.

For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.

For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

So know this evidence of him: that like a son with a father, so has he served with me in the Gospel.

Pero la experiencia de él habéis conocido, que como hijo á padre ha servido conmigo en el evangelio.

But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.

But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.

Therefore, I hope to send him to you immediately, as soon as I see what will happen concerning me.

Así que á éste espero enviaros, luego que yo viere cómo van mis negocios;

Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.

Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.

But I trust in the Lord that I myself will also return to you soon.

Y confío en el Señor que yo también iré presto á vosotros.

Now I have considered it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and co-worker, and fellow soldier, and an attendant to my needs, but your Apostle.

Mas tuve por cosa necesaria enviaros á Epafrodito, mi hermano, y colaborador y compañero de milicia, y vuestro mensajero, y ministrador de mis necesidades;

Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.

But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need,

For certainly, he has desired all of you, and he was saddened because you had heard that he was sick.

Porque tenía gran deseo de ver á todos vosotros, y gravemente se angustió porque habíais oído que había enfermado.

For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.

since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.

For he was sick, even unto death, but God took pity on him, and not only on him, but truly on myself also, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow.

Pues en verdad estuvo enfermo á la muerte: mas Dios tuvo misericordia de él; y no solamente de él, sino aun de mí, para que yo no tuviese tristeza sobre tristeza.

For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

For indeed he was sick nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.

Therefore, I sent him more readily, in order that, by seeing him again, you may rejoice, and I may be without sorrow.

Así que le envío más presto, para que viéndole os volváis á gozar, y yo esté con menos tristeza.

I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.

And so, receive him with every joy in the Lord, and treat all those like him with honor.

Recibidle pues en el Señor con todo gozo; y tened en estima á los tales:

Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:

Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such people in honor,

For he was brought close even to death, for the sake of the work of Christ, handing over his own life, so that he might fulfill what was lacking from you concerning my service.

Porque por la obra de Cristo estuvo cercano á la muerte, poniendo su vida para suplir vuestra falta en mi servicio.

Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.

because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
