Por tanto, si hay algún estímulo en Cristo, si alguna consolación de amor, si alguna comunión del espíritu, si algunos afectos profundos y alguna compasión,

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Nada hagan por rivalidad, ni por vanagloria, sino con humildad, considérense los unos a los otros como superiores a ustedes mismos.
Nada hagáis por contienda ó por vanagloria; antes bien en humildad, estimándoos inferiores los unos á los otros:
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Quien, aunque existió en forma de Dios, no consideró el ser igual a Dios como algo a lo cual aferrarse.
El cual, siendo en forma de Dios, no tuvo por usurpación ser igual á Dios:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Al contrario, Él mismo se despojó, tomó la forma de esclavo y se hizo semejante a los hombres. Con la apariencia exterior de hombre,
Sin embargo, se anonadó á sí mismo, tomando forma de siervo, hecho semejante á los hombres;
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

y están aferrados a la Palabra de vida para satisfacción mía en el día de Cristo, pues no corrí ni trabajé duro en vano.

Pero conocen su carácter, que como hijo a padre sirvió como esclavo conmigo en las Buenas Noticias.

But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
Por tanto espero enviarlo tan pronto sepa como están mis asuntos.

Estuvo al borde de la muerte por causa de la obra de Cristo y arriesgó la vida para completar la ausencia de servicio de ustedes para mí.
Porque por la obra de Cristo estuvo cercano á la muerte, poniendo su vida para suplir vuestra falta en mi servicio.
Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
