1Ein weiser Sohn läßt sich vom Vater züchtigen; aber ein Spötter gehorcht der Strafe nicht.
2Die Frucht des Mundes genießt man; aber die Verächter denken nur zu freveln.
3Wer seinen Mund bewahrt, der bewahrt sein Leben; wer aber mit seinem Maul herausfährt, der kommt in Schrecken.
4Der Faule begehrt und kriegt's doch nicht; aber die Fleißigen kriegen genug.
5Der Gerechte ist der Lüge feind; aber der Gottlose schändet und schmäht sich selbst.
6Die Gerechtigkeit behütet den Unschuldigen; aber das gottlose Wesen bringt zu Fall den Sünder.
7Mancher ist arm bei großem Gut, und mancher ist reich bei seiner Armut.
8Mit Reichtum kann einer sein Leben erretten; aber ein Armer hört kein Schelten.
9Das Licht der Gerechten brennt fröhlich; aber die Leuchte der Gottlosen wird auslöschen.
10Unter den Stolzen ist immer Hader; aber Weisheit ist bei denen, die sich raten lassen.
11Reichtum wird wenig, wo man's vergeudet; was man aber zusammenhält, das wird groß.
12Die Hoffnung, die sich verzieht, ängstet das Herz; wenn's aber kommt, was man begehrt, das ist wie ein Baum des Lebens.
13Wer das Wort verachtet, der verderbt sich selbst; wer aber das Gebot fürchtet, dem wird's vergolten.
14Die Lehre des Weisen ist eine Quelle des Lebens, zu meiden die Stricke des Todes.
15Feine Klugheit schafft Gunst; aber der Verächter Weg bringt Wehe.
16Ein Kluger tut alles mit Vernunft; ein Narr aber breitet Narrheit aus.
17Ein gottloser Bote bringt Unglück; aber ein treuer Bote ist heilsam.
18Wer Zucht läßt fahren, der hat Armut und Schande; wer sich gerne strafen läßt, wird zu ehren kommen.
19Wenn's kommt, was man begehrt, das tut dem Herzen wohl; aber das Böse meiden ist den Toren ein Greuel.
20Wer mit den Weisen umgeht, der wird weise; wer aber der Narren Geselle ist, der wird Unglück haben.
21Unglück verfolgt die Sünder; aber den Gerechten wird Gutes vergolten.
22Der Gute wird vererben auf Kindeskind; aber des Sünders Gut wird für den Gerechten gespart.
23Es ist viel Speise in den Furchen der Armen; aber die Unrecht tun, verderben.
24Wer seine Rute schont, der haßt seinen Sohn; wer ihn aber liebhat, der züchtigt ihn bald.
25Der Gerechte ißt, daß sein Seele satt wird; der Gottlosen Bauch aber hat nimmer genug.

1EL hijo sabio toma el consejo del padre: mas el burlador no escucha las reprensiones.
2Del fruto de su boca el hombre comerá bien: mas el alma de los prevaricadores hallará mal.
3El que guarda su boca guarda su alma: mas el que mucho abre sus labios tendrá calamidad.
4Desea, y nada alcanza el alma del perezoso: mas el alma de los diligentes será engordada.
5El justo aborrece la palabra de mentira: mas el impío se hace odioso é infame.
6La justicia guarda al de perfecto camino: mas la impiedad trastornará al pecador.
7Hay quienes se hacen ricos, y no tienen nada: y hay quienes se hacen pobres, y tienen muchas riquezas.
8La redención de la vida del hombre son sus riquezas: pero el pobre no oye censuras.
9La luz de los justos se alegrará: mas apagaráse la lámpara de los impíos.
10Ciertamente la soberbia parirá contienda: mas con los avisados es la sabiduría.
11Disminuiránse las riquezas de vanidad: empero multiplicará el que allega con su mano.
12La esperanza que se prolonga, es tormento del corazón: mas árbol de vida es el deseo cumplido.
13El que menosprecia la palabra, perecerá por ello: mas el que teme el mandamiento, será recompensado.
14La ley del sabio es manantial de vida, para apartarse de los lazos de la muerte.
15El buen entendimiento conciliará gracia: mas el camino de los prevaricadores es duro.
16Todo hombre cuerdo obra con sabiduría: mas el necio manifestará necedad.
17El mal mensajero caerá en mal: mas el mensajero fiel es medicina.
18Pobreza y vergüenza tendrá el que menosprecia el consejo: mas el que guarda la corrección, será honrado.
19El deseo cumplido deleita el alma: pero apartarse del mal es abominación á los necios.
20El que anda con los sabios, sabio será; mas el que se allega á los necios, será quebrantado.
21Mal perseguirá á los pecadores: mas á los justos les será bien retribuído.
22El bueno dejará herederos á los hijos de los hijos; y el haber del pecador, para el justo está guardado.
23En el barbecho de los pobres hay mucho pan: mas piérdese por falta de juicio.
24El que detiene el castigo, á su hijo aborrece: mas el que lo ama, madruga á castigarlo.
25El justo come hasta saciar su alma: mas el vientre de los impíos tendrá necesidad.

1A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.
2A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
5A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
6Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.
7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.
8The ransom of a man’s life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.
9The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
10Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
14The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
15Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
16Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.
17A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
18Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
19The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
20He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
21Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.
22A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
23Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
24He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
25The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.

1A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.
2By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful crave violence.
3He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
4The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied.
5A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.
6Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
7There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth.
8The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats.
9The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.
10Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice.
11Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
12Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
13Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded.
14The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death.
15Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.
16Every prudent man acts from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly.
17A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy gains healing.
18Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored.
19Longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.
20One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
21Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous.
22A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous.
23An abundance of food is in poor people’s fields, but injustice sweeps it away.
24One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline him.
25The righteous one eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry.
