Ein Bestechungsgeschenk erscheint dem, der es empfängt, als ein Zauberstein: überall, wohin es gelangt, hat es Erfolg. –

Piedra preciosa es el cohecho en ojos de sus dueños: á donde quiera que se vuelve, da prosperidad.

A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.

A bribe is a precious stone in the eyes of him who gives it; wherever he turns, he prospers.
