Schlägst du den Spötter, so wird der Einfältige klug; und weist man den Verständigen zurecht, so wird er Erkenntnis verstehen.

Hiere al escarnecedor, y el simple se hará avisado; y corrigiendo al entendido, entenderá ciencia.

Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
