1Besser ein Armer, der in seiner Vollkommenheit wandelt, als wer verkehrter Lippen und dabei ein Tor ist.
2Auch Unkenntnis der Seele ist nicht gut; und wer mit den Füßen hastig ist, tritt fehl.
3Die Narrheit des Menschen verdirbt seinen Weg, und sein Herz grollt wider Jehova.
4Reichtum verschafft viele Freunde; aber der Arme, sein Freund trennt sich von ihm.
5Ein falscher Zeuge wird nicht für schuldlos gehalten werden; und wer Lügen ausspricht, wird nicht entrinnen.
6Viele schmeicheln einem Edlen, und alle sind Freunde des Mannes, der Geschenke gibt.
7Alle Brüder des Armen hassen ihn; wieviel mehr entfernen sich von ihm seine Freunde! Er jagt Worten nach, die nichts sind.
8Wer Verstand erwirbt, liebt seine Seele; wer auf Verständnis achtet, wird Glück erlangen.
9Ein falscher Zeuge wird nicht für schuldlos gehalten werden, und wer Lügen ausspricht, wird umkommen.
10Nicht geziemt einem Toren Wohlleben; wieviel weniger einem Knechte, über Fürsten zu herrschen!
11Die Einsicht eines Menschen macht ihn langmütig, und sein Ruhm ist es, Vergehung zu übersehen.
12Des Königs Zorn ist wie das Knurren eines jungen Löwen, aber sein Wohlgefallen wie Tau auf das Gras.
13Ein törichter Sohn ist Verderben für seinen Vater; und die Zänkereien eines Weibes sind eine beständige Traufe.
14Haus und Gut sind ein Erbteil der Väter, aber eine einsichtsvolle Frau kommt von Jehova.
15Faulheit versenkt in tiefen Schlaf, und eine lässige Seele wird hungern.
16Wer das Gebot bewahrt, bewahrt seine Seele; wer seine Wege verachtet, wird sterben.
17Wer des Armen sich erbarmt, leiht Jehova; und er wird ihm seine Wohltat vergelten.
18Züchtige deinen Sohn, weil noch Hoffnung da ist; aber trachte nicht danach, ihn zu töten.
19Wer jähzornig ist, muß dafür büßen; denn greifst du auch ein, so machst du's nur noch schlimmer.
20Höre auf Rat und nimm Unterweisung an, damit du weise seiest in der Zukunft.
21Viele Gedanken sind in dem Herzen eines Mannes; aber der Ratschluß Jehovas, er kommt zustande.
22Die Willigkeit des Menschen macht seine Mildtätigkeit aus, und besser ein Armer als ein lügnerischer Mann.
23Die Furcht Jehovas ist zum Leben; und gesättigt verbringt man die Nacht, wird nicht heimgesucht vom Übel.
24Hat der Faule seine Hand in die Schüssel gesteckt, nicht einmal zu seinem Munde bringt er sie zurück.
25Schlägst du den Spötter, so wird der Einfältige klug; und weist man den Verständigen zurecht, so wird er Erkenntnis verstehen.
26Wer den Vater zu Grunde richtet, die Mutter verjagt, ist ein Sohn, der Schande und Schmach bringt.
27Laß ab, mein Sohn, auf Unterweisung zu hören, die abirren macht von den Worten der Erkenntnis.
28Ein Belialszeuge spottet des Rechts, und der Mund der Gesetzlosen verschlingt Unheil.
29Für die Spötter sind Gerichte bereit, und Schläge für den Rücken der Toren.

1MEJOR es el pobre que camina en su sencillez, que el de perversos labios y fatuo.
2El alma sin ciencia no es buena; y el presuroso de pies peca.
3La insensatez del hombre tuerce su camino; y contra Jehová se aira su corazón.
4Las riquezas allegan muchos amigos: mas el pobre, de su amigo es apartado.
5El testigo falso no quedará sin castigo; y el que habla mentiras no escapará.
6Muchos rogarán al príncipe: mas cada uno es amigo del hombre que da.
7Todos los hermanos del pobre le aborrecen: ¡cuánto más sus amigos se alejarán de él! buscará la palabra y no la hallará.
8El que posee entendimiento, ama su alma: el que guarda la inteligencia, hallará el bien.
9El testigo falso no quedará sin castigo; y el que habla mentiras, perecerá.
10No conviene al necio el deleite: ¡cuánto menos al siervo ser señor de los príncipes!
11La cordura del hombre detiene su furor; y su honra es disimular la ofensa.
12Como el bramido del cachorro de león es la ira del rey; y su favor como el rocío sobre la hierba.
13Dolor es para su padre el hijo necio; y gotera continua las contiendas de la mujer.
14La casa y las riquezas herencia son de los padres: mas de Jehová la mujer prudente.
15La pereza hace caer en sueño; y el alma negligente hambreará.
16El que guarda el mandamiento, guarda su alma: mas el que menospreciare sus caminos, morirá.
17A Jehová empresta el que da al pobre, y él le dará su paga.
18Castiga á tu hijo en tanto que hay esperanza; mas no se excite tu alma para destruirlo.
19El de grande ira llevará la pena: y si usa de violencias, añadirá nuevos males.
20Escucha el consejo, y recibe la corrección, para que seas sabio en tu vejez.
21Muchos pensamientos hay en el corazón del hombre; mas el consejo de Jehová permanecerá.
22Contentamiento es á los hombres hacer misericordia: pero mejor es el pobre que el mentiroso.
23El temor de Jehová es para vida; y con él vivirá el hombre, lleno de reposo; no será visitado de mal.
24El perezoso esconde su mano en el seno: aun á su boca no la llevará.
25Hiere al escarnecedor, y el simple se hará avisado; y corrigiendo al entendido, entenderá ciencia.
26El que roba á su padre y ahuyenta á su madre, hijo es avergonzador y deshonrador.
27Cesa, hijo mío, de oir la enseñanza que induce á divagar de las razones de sabiduría.
28El testigo perverso se burlará del juicio; y la boca de los impíos encubrirá la iniquidad.
29Aparejados están juicios para los escarnecedores, y azotes para los cuerpos de los insensatos.
King James Version
1Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
2Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
3The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
4Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
5A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
6Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
7All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.
8He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
9A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
10Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
11The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
12The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
13A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
14House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
15Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
16He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
17He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
18Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
19A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
20Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
21There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
22The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
23The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
24A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
26He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
27Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
28An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
29Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

2It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty with one’s feet and miss the way.
3The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against the LORD.

5A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.
6Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
7All the relatives of the poor shun him; how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.
8He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
9A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.

23The fear of the LORD leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.
24The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
26He who robs his father and drives away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
27If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.
28A corrupt witness mocks justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.
29Penalties are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
