um Weisheit und Unterweisung zu kennen, um Worte des Verstandes zu verstehen,

Para entender sabiduría y doctrina; para conocer las razones prudentes;

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;

um zu empfangen einsichtsvolle Unterweisung, Gerechtigkeit und Recht und Geradheit;

Para recibir el consejo de prudencia, justicia, y juicio y equidad;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;

um Einfältigen Klugheit zu geben, dem Jüngling Erkenntnis und Besonnenheit.

Para dar sagacidad á los simples, y á los jóvenes inteligencia y cordura.

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—

Der Weise wird hören und an Kenntnis zunehmen, und der Verständige wird sich weisen Rat erwerben;

Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber; y el entendido adquirirá consejo;

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;

Die Furcht Jehovas ist der Erkenntnis Anfang; die Narren verachten Weisheit und Unterweisung.

El principio de la sabiduría es el temor de Jehová: los insensatos desprecian la sabiduría y la enseñanza.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

Höre, mein Sohn, die Unterweisung deines Vaters, und verlaß nicht die Belehrung deiner Mutter!

Oye, hijo mío, la doctrina de tu padre, y no desprecies la dirección de tu madre:

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;

Denn sie werden ein anmutiger Kranz sein deinem Haupte und ein Geschmeide deinem Halse. -

Porque adorno de gracia serán á tu cabeza, y collares á tu cuello.

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.

Mein Sohn, wenn Sünder dich locken, so willige nicht ein.

Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar, no consientas.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.

Wenn sie sagen: Geh mit uns, wir wollen auf Blut lauern, wollen den Unschuldigen nachstellen ohne Ursache;

Si dijeren: Ven con nosotros, pongamos asechanzas á la sangre, acechemos sin motivo al inocente;

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.

wir wollen sie lebendig verschlingen wie der Scheol, und unverletzt, gleich denen, welche plötzlich in die Grube hinabfahren;

Los tragaremos vivos como el sepulcro, y enteros, como los que caen en sima;

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit.

wir werden allerlei kostbares Gut erlangen, werden unsere Häuser mit Beute füllen;

Hallaremos riquezas de todas suertes, henchiremos nuestras casas de despojos;

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.

du sollst dein Los mitten unter uns werfen, wir alle werden einen Beutel haben:

Echa tu suerte entre nosotros; tengamos todos una bolsa:

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse”—

Mein Sohn, wandle nicht mit ihnen auf dem Wege, halte deinen Fuß zurück von ihrem Pfade;

Hijo mío, no andes en camino con ellos; aparta tu pie de sus veredas:

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,

denn ihre Füße laufen dem Bösen zu, und sie eilen, Blut zu vergießen.

Porque sus pies correrán al mal, é irán presurosos á derramar sangre.

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.

Denn vergeblich wird das Netz ausgespannt vor den Augen alles Geflügelten;

Porque en vano se tenderá la red ante los ojos de toda ave;

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;

sie aber lauern auf ihr eigenes Blut, stellen ihren eigenen Seelen nach.

Mas ellos á su propia sangre ponen asechanzas, y á sus almas tienden lazo.

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.

So sind die Pfade aller derer, welche der Habsucht frönen: sie nimmt ihrem eigenen Herrn das Leben.

Tales son las sendas de todo el que es dado á la codicia, la cual prenderá el alma de sus poseedores.

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.

Die Weisheit schreit draußen, sie läßt auf den Straßen ihre Stimme erschallen.

La sabiduría clama de fuera, da su voz en las plazas:

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.

Sie ruft an der Ecke lärmender Plätze; an den Eingängen der Tore, in der Stadt redet sie ihre Worte:

Clama en los principales lugares de concurso; en las entradas de las puertas de la ciudad dice sus razones:

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:

Bis wann, ihr Einfältigen, wollt ihr Einfältigkeit lieben, und werden Spötter ihre Lust haben an Spott, und Toren Erkenntnis hassen?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza, y los burladores desearán el burlar, y los insensatos aborrecerán la ciencia?

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

Wendet euch um zu meiner Zucht! Siehe, ich will euch meinen Geist hervorströmen lassen, will euch kundtun meine Reden. -

Volveos á mi reprensión: he aquí yo os derramaré mi espíritu, y os haré saber mis palabras.

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.

Weil ich gerufen, und ihr euch geweigert habt, meine Hand ausgestreckt, und niemand aufgemerkt hat,

Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis; extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien escuchase;

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;

und ihr all meinen Rat verworfen, und meine Zucht nicht gewollt habt:

Antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y mi reprensión no quisisteis:

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;

so werde auch ich bei eurem Unglück lachen, werde spotten, wenn euer Schrecken kommt;

También yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad, y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis;

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,

wenn euer Schrecken kommt wie ein Unwetter, und euer Unglück hereinbricht wie ein Sturm, wenn Bedrängnis und Angst über euch kommen.

Cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis, y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino; cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.

Dann werden sie zu mir rufen, und ich werde nicht antworten; sie werden mich eifrig suchen, und mich nicht finden:

Entonces me llamarán, y no responderé; buscarme han de mañana, y no me hallarán:

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,

darum, daß sie Erkenntnis gehaßt und die Furcht Jehovas nicht erwählt,

Por cuanto aborrecieron la sabiduría, y no escogieron el temor de Jehová,

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD.

nicht eingewilligt haben in meinen Rat, verschmäht alle meine Zucht.

Ni quisieron mi consejo, y menospreciaron toda reprensión mía:

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.

Und sie werden essen von der Frucht ihres Weges, und von ihren Ratschlägen sich sättigen.

Comerán pues del fruto de su camino, y se hartarán de sus consejos.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.

Denn die Abtrünnigkeit der Einfältigen wird sie töten, und die Sorglosigkeit der Toren sie umbringen;

Porque el reposo de los ignorantes los matará, y la prosperidad de los necios los echará á perder.

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.

wer aber auf mich hört, wird sicher wohnen, und wird ruhig sein vor des Übels Schrecken.

Mas el que me oyere, habitará confiadamente, y vivirá reposado, sin temor de mal.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
