Provérbios de Salomão, filho de Davi, rei de Israel.

LOS proverbios de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel:

Estes provérbios são para ensinar a sabedoria e a instrução, para ensinar palavras de entendimento,

Para entender sabiduría y doctrina; para conocer las razones prudentes;

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;

para que recebas correção, de forma que faças o que é direito, justo e correto.

Para recibir el consejo de prudencia, justicia, y juicio y equidad;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;

Estes provérbios também são para dar sabedoria aos simples, entendimento e prudência aos jovens.

Para dar sagacidad á los simples, y á los jóvenes inteligencia y cordura.

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—

Para que os sábios ouçam e aumentem seu aprendizado, e para que as pessoas com discernimento sejam guiadas,

Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber; y el entendido adquirirá consejo;

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;

para que entendam os provérbios, os dizeres e as palavras dos sábios, e seus enigmas.

Para entender parábola y declaración; palabras de sabios, y sus dichos oscuros.

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

to understand a proverb and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.

O temor de Yahweh é o princípio do conhecimento, mas os tolos desprezam a sabedoria e a disciplina.

El principio de la sabiduría es el temor de Jehová: los insensatos desprecian la sabiduría y la enseñanza.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

Meu filho, ouve o ensino de teu pai e não desprezes a instrução de tua mãe;

Oye, hijo mío, la doctrina de tu padre, y no desprecies la dirección de tu madre:

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;

eles serão como uma coroa graciosa para a tua cabeça e colares para o teu pescoço.

Porque adorno de gracia serán á tu cabeza, y collares á tu cuello.

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.

Meu filho, se pecadores tentarem te persuadir a pecar junto com eles, recusa-te a segui-los.

Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar, no consientas.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.

Se disserem: "Vem conosco! Armemos uma emboscada para matar alguém; fiquemos escondidos e ataquemos um inocente.

Si dijeren: Ven con nosotros, pongamos asechanzas á la sangre, acechemos sin motivo al inocente;

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.

Vamos tragá-lo vivo, como a sepultura engole aqueles que estão saudáveis, como os que descem à cova.

Los tragaremos vivos como el sepulcro, y enteros, como los que caen en sima;

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit.

Encontraremos todo tipo de coisas valiosas, encheremos nossas casas com o que roubamos de outros.

Hallaremos riquezas de todas suertes, henchiremos nuestras casas de despojos;

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.

Vem conosco! Teremos tudo em comum".

Echa tu suerte entre nosotros; tengamos todos una bolsa:

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse”—

Meu filho, não andes neste caminho com eles, nem deixes teu pé tocar por onde eles passam;

Hijo mío, no andes en camino con ellos; aparta tu pie de sus veredas:

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,

Pois seus pés correm para o mal e eles se apressam em derramar sangue.

Porque sus pies correrán al mal, é irán presurosos á derramar sangre.

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.

É inútil armar uma rede para pegar um pássaro enquanto o pássaro está atento.

Porque en vano se tenderá la red ante los ojos de toda ave;

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;

Esses homens, que ficam à espreita para se matarem, armam armadilhas para eles mesmos.

Mas ellos á su propia sangre ponen asechanzas, y á sus almas tienden lazo.

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.

Assim são os caminhos de todo aquele que se enriquece com injustiça; o ganho injusto tira a vida daqueles que o buscam.

Tales son las sendas de todo el que es dado á la codicia, la cual prenderá el alma de sus poseedores.

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.

A sabedoria clama intensamente nas ruas e levanta a sua voz nas praças;

La sabiduría clama de fuera, da su voz en las plazas:

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.

nas esquinas tumultuadas, ela brada; nos portões da entrada da cidade, ela proclama:

Clama en los principales lugares de concurso; en las entradas de las puertas de la ciudad dice sus razones:

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:

"Até quando, vós que não possuís sabedoria, continuareis a amar a tolice? Até quando, vós zombadores, vos deleitareis na zombaria, e até quando, vós tolos, odiareis o conhecimento?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza, y los burladores desearán el burlar, y los insensatos aborrecerán la ciencia?

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

Prestai atenção na minha repreensão; Eu vos derramarei meus pensamentos e vos revelarei as minhas palavras.

Volveos á mi reprensión: he aquí yo os derramaré mi espíritu, y os haré saber mis palabras.

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.

Chamei, mas recusastes a me ouvir; estendi a minha mão e ninguém prestou atenção.

Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis; extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien escuchase;

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;

Ignorastes toda a minha instrução e desconsiderastes a minha repreensão.

Antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y mi reprensión no quisisteis:

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;

Rirei na vossa calamidade, zombarei de vós quando o terror vier,

También yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad, y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis;

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,

quando o pavor vier como uma tempestade e o desastre varrer como um redemoinho, então, a angústia e a aflição cairão sobre vós.

Cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis, y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino; cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.

Clamareis a mim, e não responderei; Vós me procurareis desesperadamente, mas não me achareis.

Entonces me llamarán, y no responderé; buscarme han de mañana, y no me hallarán:

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,

Pois odiastes o conhecimento e não escolhestes o temor de Yahweh.

Por cuanto aborrecieron la sabiduría, y no escogieron el temor de Jehová,

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD.

Não seguistes meus conselhos e desprezastes toda a minha repreensão.

Ni quisieron mi consejo, y menospreciaron toda reprensión mía:

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.

Comereis o fruto dos vossos caminhos e, com o fruto das vossas intrigas, vos enchereis.

Comerán pues del fruto de su camino, y se hartarán de sus consejos.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.

Pois os ingênuos são mortos quando se desviam, e a prosperidade dos tolos os destruirá.

Porque el reposo de los ignorantes los matará, y la prosperidad de los necios los echará á perder.

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.

Mas aquele que ouvir a mim viverá em segurança e descansará tranquilo, sem temer o mal".

Mas el que me oyere, habitará confiadamente, y vivirá reposado, sin temor de mal.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
