Proverbios 1

Estes são os provérbios de Salomão, rei de Israel, filho de Davi,

LOS proverbios de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel:

escritos para se conhecer a sabedoria e a instrução; para compreender as palavras que dão entendimento;

Para entender sabiduría y doctrina; para conocer las razones prudentes;

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;

que nos ensinam a viver de maneira inteligente e disciplinada, fazendo o que é justo, correto e honesto.

Para recibir el consejo de prudencia, justicia, y juicio y equidad;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;

Esses provérbios ajudarão uma pessoa inexperiente a alcançar prudência e os jovens a enfrentar com bom senso os problemas da vida.

Para dar sagacidad á los simples, y á los jóvenes inteligencia y cordura.

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—

Ouça o sábio e crescerá em prudência; o homem experiente obterá orientação

Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber; y el entendido adquirirá consejo;

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;

para compreender os provérbios e as parábolas, os ditados e enigmas dos sábios.

Para entender parábola y declaración; palabras de sabios, y sus dichos oscuros.

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

to understand a proverb and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.

Mas como um homem se torna sábio? Em primeiro lugar, temendo o Senhor. Somente os tolos desprezam a sabedoria e a instrução.

El principio de la sabiduría es el temor de Jehová: los insensatos desprecian la sabiduría y la enseñanza.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

Por isso, meu filho, ouça a instrução de seu pai e nunca deixe de lado o ensino de sua mãe.

Oye, hijo mío, la doctrina de tu padre, y no desprecies la dirección de tu madre:

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;

Eles serão como um enfeite na sua cabeça e um adorno no seu pescoço.

Porque adorno de gracia serán á tu cabeza, y collares á tu cuello.

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.

Meu filho, quando os maus quiserem enganá-lo com mentiras, não permita que isso aconteça.

Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar, no consientas.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.

Se fizerem este convite: “Venha fazer parte de nosso bando! Vamos nos divertir atacando de surpresa alguém que de nada suspeita e vamos matá-lo!

Si dijeren: Ven con nosotros, pongamos asechanzas á la sangre, acechemos sin motivo al inocente;

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.

Vamos acabar com a vida do inocente; vamos engoli-lo vivo, como a sepultura que engole os mortos de uma vez para sempre;

Los tragaremos vivos como el sepulcro, y enteros, como los que caen en sima;

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit.

conseguiremos riquezas de toda espécie e encheremos as nossas casas com o que roubarmos;

Hallaremos riquezas de todas suertes, henchiremos nuestras casas de despojos;

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.

venha fazer parte de nosso bando; tudo que ganharmos será dividido em partes iguais!”

Echa tu suerte entre nosotros; tengamos todos una bolsa:

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse”—

Não siga o caminho dessa gente, meu filho! Fique longe deles,

Hijo mío, no andes en camino con ellos; aparta tu pie de sus veredas:

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,

pois a inclinação natural deles é para a maldade; pensam somente em derramar sangue.

Porque sus pies correrán al mal, é irán presurosos á derramar sangre.

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.

Quando o pássaro vê o caçador montar a armadilha, é inútil montá-la.

Porque en vano se tenderá la red ante los ojos de toda ave;

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;

Esses homens não percebem que montam armadilhas contra suas próprias vidas; eles planejam a sua própria destruição!

Mas ellos á su propia sangre ponen asechanzas, y á sus almas tienden lazo.

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.

Esse é o destino de todos os que são dominados pelo desejo de possuir riquezas. Essa ambição acaba destruindo quem assim procede.

Tales son las sendas de todo el que es dado á la codicia, la cual prenderá el alma de sus poseedores.

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.

A sabedoria anda pelas ruas e praças, gritando em alta voz e querendo ser ouvida;

La sabiduría clama de fuera, da su voz en las plazas:

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.

fala para o povo nas ruas, para nas portas da cidade:

Clama en los principales lugares de concurso; en las entradas de las puertas de la ciudad dice sus razones:

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:

“Até quando vocês vão viver como tolos? E vocês, que zombam e fazem pouco caso de mim, até quando terão prazer na zombaria? Tolos, até quando desprezarão o conhecimento?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza, y los burladores desearán el burlar, y los insensatos aborrecerán la ciencia?

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

Ouçam: Se aceitarem a minha correção, eu derramarei o meu espírito de sabedoria sobre vocês e lhes mostrarei o meu plano para suas vidas.

Volveos á mi reprensión: he aquí yo os derramaré mi espíritu, y os haré saber mis palabras.

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.

Eu já chamei tantas vezes, e vocês recusaram! Estendi a mão, convidando, mas ninguém me deu importância.

Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis; extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien escuchase;

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;

Vocês não deram valor aos meus conselhos e não aceitaram a minha repreensão.

Antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y mi reprensión no quisisteis:

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;

Por isso, quando chegarem os dias do seu sofrimento, os dias do medo e da tristeza, eu vou rir e zombar de vocês.

También yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad, y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis;

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,

Quando aquilo que temem ocorrer com vocês como uma tempestade, quando a desgraça cair sobre vocês como um furacão, quando vocês estiverem sufocados pela angústia e dor,

Cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis, y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino; cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.

então vocês me chamarão, mas não responderei. Tentarão me achar, mas não me encontrarão.

Entonces me llamarán, y no responderé; buscarme han de mañana, y no me hallarán:

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,

“Sabem por que isso vai acontecer? Porque vocês desprezaram o conhecimento e se recusaram a temer o Senhor.

Por cuanto aborrecieron la sabiduría, y no escogieron el temor de Jehová,

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD.

Vocês não deram valor aos meus conselhos e acharam que a minha repreensão era inútil.

Ni quisieron mi consejo, y menospreciaron toda reprensión mía:

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.

Por isso, vocês comerão os frutos amargos de sua desobediência e se fartarão dos seus próprios conselhos.

Comerán pues del fruto de su camino, y se hartarán de sus consejos.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.

Vocês morrerão porque se afastaram de mim. Tolos! Vocês pensavam que tudo estava bem enquanto caminhavam passo a passo para a destruição.

Porque el reposo de los ignorantes los matará, y la prosperidad de los necios los echará á perder.

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.

Quem me ouvir e obedecer viverá em paz e segurança, sem ter medo do mal”.

Mas el que me oyere, habitará confiadamente, y vivirá reposado, sin temor de mal.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
