Sprüche Salomos, des Sohnes Davids, des Königs von Israel,

LOS proverbios de Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel:

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

daß man Weisheit und Zucht erlerne und verständige Reden verstehe,

Para entender sabiduría y doctrina; para conocer las razones prudentes;

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;

daß man Gedankenzucht erlange, Rechtssinn, Urteilskraft und Aufrichtigkeit;

Para recibir el consejo de prudencia, justicia, y juicio y equidad;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;

damit den Einfältigen Klugheit, den Jünglingen Erkenntnis und Besonnenheit verliehen werde.

Para dar sagacidad á los simples, y á los jóvenes inteligencia y cordura.

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—

Wer weise ist, hört darauf und vermehrt seine Kenntnisse, und wer verständig ist, eignet sich Fertigkeiten an,

Oirá el sabio, y aumentará el saber; y el entendido adquirirá consejo;

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;

damit er Sprichwörter und bildliche Rede verstehe, die Worte der Weisen und ihre Rätsel.

Para entender parábola y declaración; palabras de sabios, y sus dichos oscuros.

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

Die Furcht des HERRN ist der Anfang der Erkenntnis; nur Toren verachten Weisheit und Zucht!

El principio de la sabiduría es el temor de Jehová: los insensatos desprecian la sabiduría y la enseñanza.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

Höre, mein Sohn, die Unterweisung deines Vaters und verwirf nicht die Lehre deiner Mutter!

Oye, hijo mío, la doctrina de tu padre, y no desprecies la dirección de tu madre:

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;

Denn sie sind ein schöner Kranz für dein Haupt und ein Geschmeide um deinen Hals.

Porque adorno de gracia serán á tu cabeza, y collares á tu cuello.

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.

Mein Sohn, wenn dich Sünder überreden wollen, so willige nicht ein,

Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar, no consientas.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.

wenn sie sagen: «Komm mit uns, wir wollen auf Blut lauern, wir wollen dem Unschuldigen ohne Ursache nachstellen;

Si dijeren: Ven con nosotros, pongamos asechanzas á la sangre, acechemos sin motivo al inocente;

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.

wir wollen sie verschlingen wie der Scheol die Lebendigen, als sänken sie unversehens ins Grab!

Los tragaremos vivos como el sepulcro, y enteros, como los que caen en sima;

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit.

Wir wollen allerlei kostbares Gut gewinnen und unsre Häuser füllen mit Raub;

Hallaremos riquezas de todas suertes, henchiremos nuestras casas de despojos;

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.

schließe dich uns auf gut Glück an, wir wollen gemeinsame Kasse führen!»

Echa tu suerte entre nosotros; tengamos todos una bolsa:

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse”—

Mein Sohn, geh nicht mit ihnen auf dem Wege, halte deinen Fuß zurück von ihrem Pfad!

Hijo mío, no andes en camino con ellos; aparta tu pie de sus veredas:

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,

Denn ihre Füße laufen zum Bösen und eilen Blut zu vergießen.

Porque sus pies correrán al mal, é irán presurosos á derramar sangre.

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.

Denn vergeblich wird das Netz ausgespannt vor den Augen aller Vögel;

Porque en vano se tenderá la red ante los ojos de toda ave;

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;

sie aber lauern auf ihr eigenes Blut und stellen ihrem eigenen Leben nach.

Mas ellos á su propia sangre ponen asechanzas, y á sus almas tienden lazo.

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.

Dies ist das Schicksal aller, die nach †ungerechtem Gewinn trachten: er kostet seinen Besitzern die Seele!

Tales son las sendas de todo el que es dado á la codicia, la cual prenderá el alma de sus poseedores.

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.

Die Weisheit ruft draußen laut, öffentlich läßt sie ihre Stimme hören;

La sabiduría clama de fuera, da su voz en las plazas:

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.

im ärgsten Straßenlärm schreit sie, an den Pforten der Stadttore hält sie ihre Reden:

Clama en los principales lugares de concurso; en las entradas de las puertas de la ciudad dice sus razones:

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:

Wie lange wollt ihr Einfältigen die Einfalt lieben und ihr Spötter Lust am Spotten haben und ihr Toren Erkenntnis hassen?

¿Hasta cuándo, oh simples, amaréis la simpleza, y los burladores desearán el burlar, y los insensatos aborrecerán la ciencia?

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?

Kehret um zu meiner Zurechtweisung! Siehe, ich will euch meinen Geist sprudeln lassen, euch meine Worte kundtun!

Volveos á mi reprensión: he aquí yo os derramaré mi espíritu, y os haré saber mis palabras.

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.

Darum, weil ich rufe und ihr mich abweiset, weil ich meine Hand ausstrecke und niemand darauf achtet,

Por cuanto llamé, y no quisisteis; extendí mi mano, y no hubo quien escuchase;

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;

weil ihr vielmehr allen meinen Rat verwerfet und meine Zurechtweisung nicht begehret,

Antes desechasteis todo consejo mío, y mi reprensión no quisisteis:

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;

so werde auch ich eures Unglücks lachen und euer spotten,

También yo me reiré en vuestra calamidad, y me burlaré cuando os viniere lo que teméis;

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,

wenn das, was ihr fürchtet, wie ein Wetter über euch kommt und euer Schicksal euch wie ein Wirbelsturm überraschen wird, wenn euch Angst und Not überfällt.

Cuando viniere como una destrucción lo que teméis, y vuestra calamidad llegare como un torbellino; cuando sobre vosotros viniere tribulación y angustia.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.

Dann werden sie mich anrufen, aber ich werde nicht antworten; sie werden mich eifrig suchen und nicht finden,

Entonces me llamarán, y no responderé; buscarme han de mañana, y no me hallarán:

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,

darum, daß sie die Erkenntnis gehaßt und die Furcht des HERRN nicht erwählt haben,

Por cuanto aborrecieron la sabiduría, y no escogieron el temor de Jehová,

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD.

daß sie meinen Rat nicht begehrt und alle meine Zurechtweisung verschmäht haben.

Ni quisieron mi consejo, y menospreciaron toda reprensión mía:

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.

Darum sollen sie von der Frucht ihres eigenen Weges essen und von ihren eigenen Ratschlägen genug bekommen!

Comerán pues del fruto de su camino, y se hartarán de sus consejos.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.

Denn ihre Verirrung bringt die Einfältigen um, und ihre Sorglosigkeit stürzt die Toren ins Verderben.

Porque el reposo de los ignorantes los matará, y la prosperidad de los necios los echará á perder.

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.

Wer aber mir gehorcht, wird sicher wohnen und kein Unheil fürchten müssen.

Mas el que me oyere, habitará confiadamente, y vivirá reposado, sin temor de mal.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
