Palabra de Dios para Ti
1El vino es burlador y alborotador el licor, Y cualquiera que en ello se desvía no es sabio.
2Como rugido de león es la ira del rey, El que provoca su ira expone su propia vida.
3Honra del hombre es evitar la contienda, Pero todo insensato se envolverá en ella.
4En otoño no ara el holgazán, Rebuscará en la cosecha y nada hallará.
5Como agua profunda es el propósito en el corazón del hombre, Pero el hombre entendido logrará extraerlo.
6Muchos hombres proclaman su propia bondad, Pero un hombre fiel, ¿quién lo hallará?
7El justo camina en su integridad, Después de él, sus hijos son muy dichosos.
8Un rey sentado en el tribunal, Con su mirada disipa toda maldad.
9¿Quién podrá decir: Tengo mi conciencia limpia, Estoy purificado de mi pecado?
10Pesa falsa y medida falsa, Ambas son repugnancia a Yavé.
11Aun el muchacho es conocido por sus hechos, Si su conducta es limpia y recta.
12El oído que oye y el ojo que ve, Ambas cosas las hizo Yavé.
13No ames el sueño No sea que te empobrezcas. Abre tus ojos y te saciarás de pan.
14Es malo, es malo, dice el comprador, Pero cuando se va, se jacta.
15Existe el oro y multitud de piedras preciosas, Pero los labios sabios son algo más precioso.
16Tómale la ropa al que salió fiador de un extraño, Y tómale prenda cuando da garantía a los forasteros.
17Sabroso es al hombre el pan mal adquirido, Pero después su boca estará llena de fragmentos de piedra.
18Confirma los planes por medio del consejo, Y con sabias estrategias haz la guerra.
19El que revela secretos levanta calumnia, Por tanto, no te metas con un chismoso.
20Al que insulte a su padre o a su madre, Se le apagará su lámpara en medio de la oscuridad.
21Herencia adquirida con robo al comienzo, Al fin no será bendita.
22No digas: Yo me vengaré. Espera a Yavé, y Él te salvará.
23Las pesas desiguales son repugnancia a Yavé, Y una balanza con trampa no es buena.
24De Yavé son los pasos del hombre, ¿Cómo, pues, podrá el hombre entender su camino?
25Trampa es al hombre el voto apresurado, Y después de hacerlo, reflexionar.
26El rey sabio dispersa a los perversos, Y hace pasar sobre ellos la rueda de trillar.
27Lámpara de Yavé es el espíritu del hombre, Que escudriña lo más recóndito del ser.
28Misericordia y verdad preservan al rey, Y la clemencia sustenta su trono.
29La gloria de los jóvenes es su fortaleza, Y el esplendor de los ancianos, sus canas.
30Las marcas de los azotes purifican del mal, Y los golpes llegan a lo íntimo del corazón.

1EL vino es escarnecedor, la cerveza alborotadora; y cualquiera que por ello errare, no será sabio.
2Como bramido de cachorro de león es el terror del rey: el que lo hace enfurecerse, peca contra su alma.
3Honra es del hombre dejarse de contienda: mas todo insensato se envolverá en ella.
4El perezoso no ara á causa del invierno; pedirá pues en la siega, y no hallará.
5Como aguas profundas es el consejo en el corazón del hombre: mas el hombre entendido lo alcanzará.
6Muchos hombres publican cada uno su liberalidad: mas hombre de verdad, ¿quién lo hallará?
7El justo que camina en su integridad, bienaventurados serán sus hijos después de él.
8El rey que se sienta en el trono de juicio, con su mirar disipa todo mal.
9¿Quién podrá decir: Yo he limpiado mi corazón, limpio estoy de mi pecado?
10Doble pesa y doble medida, abominación son á Jehová ambas cosas.
11Aun el muchacho es conocido por sus hechos, si su obra fuere limpia y recta.
12El oído que oye, y el ojo que ve, ambas cosas ha igualmente hecho Jehová.
13No ames el sueño, porque no te empobrezcas; abre tus ojos, y te hartarás de pan.
14El que compra dice: malo es, malo es: mas en apartándose, se alaba.
15Hay oro y multitud de piedras preciosas: mas los labios sabios son vaso precioso.
16Quítale su ropa al que salió por fiador del extraño; y tómale prenda al que fía la extraña.
17Sabroso es al hombre el pan de mentira; mas después su boca será llena de cascajo.
18Los pensamientos con el consejo se ordenan: y con industria se hace la guerra.
19El que descubre el secreto, en chismes anda: no te entrometas, pues, con el que lisonjea con sus labios.
20El que maldice á su padre ó á su madre, su lámpara será apagada en oscuridad tenebrosa.
21La herencia adquirida de priesa al principio, aun su postrimería no será bendita.
22No digas, yo me vengaré; espera á Jehová, y él te salvará.
23Abominación son á Jehová las pesas dobles; y el peso falso no es bueno.
24De Jehová son los pasos del hombre: ¿cómo pues entenderá el hombre su camino?
25Lazo es al hombre el devorar lo santo, y andar pesquisando después de los votos.
26El rey sabio esparce los impíos, y sobre ellos hace tornar la rueda.
27Candela de Jehová es el alma del hombre, que escudriña lo secreto del vientre.
28Misericordia y verdad guardan al rey; y con clemencia sustenta su trono.
29La gloria de los jóvenes es su fortaleza, y la hermosura de los viejos la vejez.
30Las señales de las heridas son medicina para lo malo: y las llagas llegan á lo más secreto del vientre.

1Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
2The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
3It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
4The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
7The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
8A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
11Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
12The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
13Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
16Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
17Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
19He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
20Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
21An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
22Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
23Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
24Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
25It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
26A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
28Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
29The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
30The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

1Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
2The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.
3It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.
4The sluggard will not plow by reason of the winter; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6Many men claim to be men of unfailing love, but who can find a faithful man?
7A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him.
8A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.
9Who can say, “I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin”?
10Differing weights and differing measures, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.
11Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.

22Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” Wait for the LORD, and he will save you.
23The LORD detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are not pleasing.
24A man’s steps are from the LORD; how then can man understand his way?
25It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.
26A wise king winnows out the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them.
27The spirit of man is the LORD’s lamp, searching all his innermost parts.
28Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love.
29The glory of young men is their strength. The splendor of old men is their gray hair.
30Wounding blows cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the innermost parts.
