ed ecco le spine vi crescean da per tutto, i rovi ne coprivano il suolo, e il muro di cinta era in rovina.

Y he aquí que por toda ella habían ya crecido espinas, ortigas habían ya cubierto su haz, y su cerca de piedra estaba ya destruída.

And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
