No envidies a los malvados, no busques su compañía;
NO tengas envidia de los hombres malos, ni desees estar con ellos:
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
Don’t be envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them;
pues se pasan el tiempo tramando violencia y no hablan más que de buscar problemas.
Porque su corazón piensa en robar, é iniquidad hablan sus labios.
For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
for their hearts plot violence and their lips talk about mischief.
Con sabiduría se construye la casa y con inteligencia sus cimientos;
Con sabiduría se edificará la casa, y con prudencia se afirmará:
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established;
con conocimiento se llenan sus cuartos de toda clase de riquezas y cosas valiosas.
Y con ciencia se henchirán las cámaras de todo bien preciado y agradable.
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.
El hombre sabio es más poderoso que el hombre fuerte.
El hombre sabio es fuerte; y de pujante vigor el hombre docto.
A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
A wise man has great power. A knowledgeable man increases strength,
La guerra se hace con buena estrategia, la victoria se alcanza con muchos consejeros.
Porque con ingenio harás la guerra: y la salud está en la multitud de consejeros.
For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.
for by wise guidance you wage your war, and victory is in many advisors.
La sabiduría no es para el necio, que en la asamblea del pueblo nada tiene que decir.
Alta está para el insensato la sabiduría: en la puerta no abrirá él su boca.
Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
Wisdom is too high for a fool. He doesn’t open his mouth in the gate.
Al que planea perversidades, le llaman intrigante.
Al que piensa mal hacer le llamarán hombre de malos pensamientos.
He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
One who plots to do evil will be called a schemer.
Los planes del necio son pecado, y todos desprecian al insolente.
El pensamiento del necio es pecado: y abominación á los hombres el escarnecedor.
The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
Si te desanimas cuando estás en medio de muchos problemas, es que no tienes mucha fortaleza.
Si fueres flojo en el día de trabajo, tu fuerza será reducida.
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.
Rescata a los que van rumbo a la muerte, detén a los que a tumbos avanzan al sepulcro.
Si dejares de librar los que son tomados para la muerte, y los que son llevados al degolladero;
If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!
Pues aunque digas que no sabías nada, el que conoce los corazones, el que vigila tu vida, sí lo sabrá. Él paga a cada uno según sus obras.
Si dijeres: Ciertamente no lo supimos; ¿no lo entenderá el que pesa los corazones? El que mira por tu alma, él lo conocerá, y dará al hombre según sus obras.
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not give to every man according to his work?
Hijo mío, come miel, porque es buena; la miel del panal es dulce a tu paladar.
Come, hijo mío, de la miel, porque es buena, y del panal dulce á tu paladar:
My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:
My son, eat honey, for it is good, the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste;
Así de dulce sea la sabiduría a tu alma; si das con ella, tendrás buen futuro; tendrás una esperanza que no será destruida.
Tal será el conocimiento de la sabiduría á tu alma: si la hallares tendrá recompensa, y al fin tu esperanza no será cortada.
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off.
No hagas planes malvados en contra de la casa del justo, ni acabes con la casa donde él vive;
Oh impío, no aceches la tienda del justo, no saquees su cámara;
Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
Don’t lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don’t destroy his resting place;
porque puede que caigan siete veces, pero cada vez que caigan se levantarán; pero a los malvados les bastará una sola caída para hundirse en la desgracia.
Porque siete veces cae el justo, y se torna á levantar; mas los impíos caerán en el mal.
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
No te alegres cuando tu enemigo caiga, ni dejes que tu corazón se regocije cuando tropiece,
Cuando cayere tu enemigo, no te huelgues; y cuando tropezare, no se alegre tu corazón:
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown,
porque el Señor verá lo que pasa y no le agradará, y apartará su enojo de él.
Porque Jehová no lo mire, y le desagrade, y aparte de sobre él su enojo.
Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

No te alteres por causa de los malvados, ni sientas envidia de los impíos,
No te entrometas con los malignos, ni tengas envidia de los impíos;
Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;
Don’t fret yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious of the wicked;
porque no hay futuro para el malvado, su lámpara se apagará.
Porque para el malo no habrá buen fin, y la candela de los impíos será apagada.
For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
for there will be no reward to the evil man. The lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
Hijo mío, teme al Señor y honra al rey, y no te juntes con los rebeldes.
Teme á Jehová, hijo mío, y al rey; no te entrometas con los veleidosos:
My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:
My son, fear the LORD and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious,
Porque de repente les vendrá el desastre; ¡y quién sabe cuál será el castigo del Señor y del rey!
Porque su quebrantamiento se levantará de repente; y el quebrantamiento de ambos, ¿quién lo comprende?
For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
for their calamity will rise suddenly. Who knows what destruction may come from them both?
También estos son dichos de los sabios: Es malo mostrar favor hacia alguien en el juicio.
También estas cosas pertenecen á los sabios. Tener respeto á personas en el juicio no es bueno.
These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.
Al que dice al culpable: «Eres inocente», lo maldecirán los pueblos y las naciones.
El que dijere al malo, Justo eres, los pueblos lo maldecirán, y le detestarán las naciones:
He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” peoples will curse him, and nations will abhor him—
Pero se derramarán bendiciones sobre el que condene al culpable.
Mas los que lo reprenden, serán agradables, y sobre ellos vendrá bendición de bien.
But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come on them.
La respuesta sincera es como el beso en los labios.
Besados serán los labios del que responde palabras rectas.
Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
Prepara primero tus faenas de cultivo y ten listos tus campos para la siembra; después de eso, construye tu casa.
Apresta tu obra de afuera, y disponla en tu heredad; y después edificarás tu casa.
Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.
No testifiques sin ninguna causa contra tu prójimo ni digas mentiras.
No seas sin causa testigo contra tu prójimo; y no lisonjees con tus labios.
Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.
Don’t be a witness against your neighbor without cause. Don’t deceive with your lips.
No digas, «¡Ahora me desquitaré de todo el mal que me hizo!».
No digas: Como me hizo, así le haré; daré el pago al hombre según su obra.
Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
Don’t say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”
Pasé junto al campo del perezoso, junto a la viña del que no tiene sentido común.
Pasé junto á la heredad del hombre perezoso, y junto á la viña del hombre falto de entendimiento;
I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.
Había espinas por todas partes; la hierba cubría el terreno, y su cerca de piedras estaba derrumbada.
Y he aquí que por toda ella habían ya crecido espinas, ortigas habían ya cubierto su haz, y su cerca de piedra estaba ya destruída.
And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
Entonces, mientras miraba y pensaba en esto, aprendí esta lección:
Y yo miré, y púselo en mi corazón: vilo, y tomé consejo.
Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Un poquito más de sueño, otra pequeña siesta, cruza los brazos para descansar…
Un poco de sueño, cabeceando otro poco, poniendo mano sobre mano otro poco para dormir;
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep,
¡y te asaltará la pobreza como un ladrón, y la escasez como un bandido armado!
Así vendrá como caminante tu necesidad, y tu pobreza como hombre de escudo.
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.
