1El malvado huye cuando ningún hombre lo persigue, pero los rectos no tienen miedo, como el león.
2Debido al pecado de la tierra, sus problemas aumentan; pero por un hombre de sabiduría y conocimiento serán apagados como un fuego.
3Un hombre rico que es cruel con los pobres es como una lluvia violenta que causa destrucción de alimentos.
4Los que no respetan la ley alaban al malhechor; pero tales que guardan la ley están en contra de él.
5Los hombres malvados no tienen conocimiento de lo que es correcto; pero los que van tras el Señor tienen conocimiento de todas las cosas.
6Mejor es el pobre cuyos caminos son rectos, que el hombre rico cuyos caminos no son rectos.
7El que guarda la ley es hijo sabio, pero el que se hace compañía de los glotones avergüenza a su padre.
8El que hace que su riqueza sea más grande al tomar interés, solo lo junta para el que tiene compasión de los pobres.
9En cuanto al hombre que aparta su oído para no oír la ley, incluso su oración es desagradable.
10Cualquiera que haga que los rectos vayan errantes por el mal camino, él mismo descenderá al hoyo que él ha hecho; pero los rectos tendrán buenas cosas para su herencia.
11El hombre de riqueza parece ser sabio en su opinión, pero el pobre que tiene sentido tiene una baja opinión de él.
12Cuando los rectos hacen bien, hay gran gloria; pero cuando los malhechores son levantados, los hombres se esconden.
13El que guarda sus pecados en secreto no hará bien; pero el que está abierto acerca de ellos y los abandona, obtendrá misericordia.
14Feliz es el hombre en quien está el temor del Señor en todo momento; pero aquel cuyo corazón es duro entrará en problemas.
15Como un león de voz fuerte y un oso errante, es un malvado gobernante sobre un pueblo pobre.
16El príncipe que no tiene sentido es un gobernante cruel; pero el que no desea obtener ganancias por sí mismo tendrá una vida larga.
17Alguien que ha sido la causa de la muerte de un hombre irá en vuelo al sepulcro: que ningún hombre le dé ayuda.
18Aquel cuyos caminos son rectos estará a salvo, pero repentina será la caída de aquel cuyos caminos están torcidos.
19Al arar su tierra, un hombre tendrá pan en toda su medida; pero el que persigue a los holgazanes será lo suficientemente pobre.
20Un hombre de buena fe tendrá una gran bendición, pero uno que intenta obtener riqueza rápidamente no quedará libre del castigo.
21No es bueno tener respeto por la posición de un hombre: porque un hombre hará lo malo por un poco de pan.
22El que siempre desea riqueza, corre tras el dinero, y no ve la necesidad vendrá sobre él.
23El que dice palabras de protesta a un hombre tendrá más aprobación que uno que diga palabras alabadoras con su lengua.
24El que toma de su padre o de su madre lo que es suyo por derecho, y dice: No es pecado; es lo mismo que un tomador de vida.
25El que siempre desea ganancias, es causa de pelea; pero el que pone su fe en el Señor prosperará.
26El que tiene fe en sí mismo es necio; pero todos los que caminan sabiamente estarán a salvo.
27El que da al pobre nunca tendrá necesidad, pero grandes maldiciones caerán sobre el que no les presta atención.
28Cuando los malhechores son levantados, los hombres se esconden; pero cuando la destrucción los alcanza, aumentan los justos.

1HUYE el impío sin que nadie lo persiga: mas el justo está confiado como un leoncillo.
2Por la rebelión de la tierra sus príncipes son muchos: mas por el hombre entendido y sabio permanecerá sin mutación.
3El hombre pobre y robador de los pobres, es lluvia de avenida y sin pan.
4Los que dejan la ley, alaban á los impíos: mas los que la guardan, contenderán con ellos.
5Los hombres malos no entienden el juicio: mas los que buscan á Jehová, entienden todas las cosas.
6Mejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad, que el de perversos caminos, y rico.
7El que guarda la ley es hijo prudente: mas el que es compañero de glotones, avergüenza á su padre.
8El que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y crecido interés, para que se dé á los pobres lo allega.
9El que aparta su oído para no oir la ley, su oración también es abominable.
10El que hace errar á los rectos por el mal camino, él caerá en su misma sima: mas los perfectos heredarán el bien.
11El hombre rico es sabio en su opinión: mas el pobre entendido lo examinará.
12Cuando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; mas cuando los impíos son levantados, es buscado el hombre.
13El que encubre sus pecados, no prosperará: mas el que los confiesa y se aparta, alcanzará misericordia.
14Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre está temeroso: mas el que endurece su corazón, caerá en mal.
15León rugiente y oso hambriento, es el príncipe impío sobre el pueblo pobre.
16El príncipe falto de entendimiento multiplicará los agravios: mas el que aborrece la avaricia, prolongará sus días.
17El hombre que hace violencia con sangre de persona, huirá hasta el sepulcro, y nadie le detendrá.
18El que en integridad camina, será salvo; mas el de perversos caminos caerá en alguno.
19El que labra su tierra, se hartará de pan: mas el que sigue los ociosos, se hartará de pobreza.
20El hombre de verdad tendrá muchas bendiciones: mas el que se apresura á enriquecer, no será sin culpa.
21Tener acepción de personas, no es bueno: hasta por un bocado de pan prevaricará el hombre.
22Apresúrase á ser rico el hombre de mal ojo; y no conoce que le ha de venir pobreza.
23El que reprende al hombre, hallará después mayor gracia que el que lisonjea con la lengua.
24El que roba á su padre ó á su madre, y dice que no es maldad, compañero es del hombre destruidor.
25El altivo de ánimo suscita contiendas: mas el que en Jehová confía, medrará.
26El que confía en su corazón es necio; mas el que camina en sabiduría, será salvo.
27El que da al pobre, no tendrá pobreza: mas el que aparta sus ojos, tendrá muchas maldiciones.
28Cuando los impíos son levantados, esconderáse el hombre: mas cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.

1The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
8He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
11The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
18Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

19One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
22A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn’t know that poverty waits for him.
23One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.
24Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.
