Proverbios 28

1Le méchant prend la fuite sans qu’on le poursuive, Le juste a de l’assurance comme un jeune lion.
2Quand un pays est en révolte, les chefs sont nombreux; Mais avec un homme qui a de l’intelligence et de la science, Le règne se prolonge.
3Un homme pauvre qui opprime les misérables Est une pluie violente qui fait manquer le pain.
4Ceux qui abandonnent la loi louent le méchant, Mais ceux qui observent la loi s’irritent contre lui.
5Les hommes livrés au mal ne comprennent pas ce qui est juste, Mais ceux qui cherchent l’Éternel comprennent tout.
6Mieux vaut le pauvre qui marche dans son intégrité, Que celui qui a des voies tortueuses et qui est riche.
7Celui qui observe la loi est un fils intelligent, Mais celui qui fréquente les débauchés fait honte à son père.
8Celui qui augmente ses biens par l’intérêt et l’usure Les amasse pour celui qui a pitié des pauvres.
9Si quelqu’un détourne l’oreille pour ne pas écouter la loi, Sa prière même est une abomination.
10Celui qui égare les hommes droits dans la mauvaise voie Tombe dans la fosse qu’il a creusée; Mais les hommes intègres héritent le bonheur.
11L’homme riche se croit sage; Mais le pauvre qui est intelligent le sonde.
12Quand les justes triomphent, c’est une grande gloire; Quand les méchants s’élèvent, chacun se cache.
13Celui qui cache ses transgressions ne prospère point, Mais celui qui les avoue et les délaisse obtient miséricorde.
14Heureux l’homme qui est continuellement dans la crainte! Mais celui qui endurcit son cœur tombe dans le malheur.
15Comme un lion rugissant et un ours affamé, Ainsi est le méchant qui domine sur un peuple pauvre.
16Un prince sans intelligence multiplie les actes d’oppression, Mais celui qui est ennemi de la cupidité prolonge ses jours.
17Un homme chargé du sang d’un autre Fuit jusqu’à la fosse: qu’on ne l’arrête pas!
18Celui qui marche dans l’intégrité trouve le salut, Mais celui qui suit deux voies tortueuses tombe dans l’une d’elles.
19Celui qui cultive son champ est rassasié de pain, Mais celui qui poursuit des choses vaines est rassasié de pauvreté.
20Un homme fidèle est comblé de bénédictions, Mais celui qui a hâte de s’enrichir ne reste pas impuni.
21Il n’est pas bon d’avoir égard aux personnes, Et pour un morceau de pain un homme se livre au péché.
22Un homme envieux a hâte de s’enrichir, Et il ne sait pas que la disette viendra sur lui.
23Celui qui reprend les autres trouve ensuite plus de faveur Que celui dont la langue est flatteuse.
24Celui qui vole son père et sa mère, Et qui dit: Ce n’est pas un péché! Est le compagnon du destructeur.
25L’orgueilleux excite les querelles, Mais celui qui se confie en l’Éternel est rassasié.
26Celui qui a confiance dans son propre cœur est un insensé, Mais celui qui marche dans la sagesse sera sauvé.
27Celui qui donne au pauvre n’éprouve pas la disette, Mais celui qui ferme les yeux est chargé de malédictions.
28Quand les méchants s’élèvent, chacun se cache; Et quand ils périssent, les justes se multiplient.

1HUYE el impío sin que nadie lo persiga: mas el justo está confiado como un leoncillo.
2Por la rebelión de la tierra sus príncipes son muchos: mas por el hombre entendido y sabio permanecerá sin mutación.
3El hombre pobre y robador de los pobres, es lluvia de avenida y sin pan.
4Los que dejan la ley, alaban á los impíos: mas los que la guardan, contenderán con ellos.
5Los hombres malos no entienden el juicio: mas los que buscan á Jehová, entienden todas las cosas.
6Mejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad, que el de perversos caminos, y rico.
7El que guarda la ley es hijo prudente: mas el que es compañero de glotones, avergüenza á su padre.
8El que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y crecido interés, para que se dé á los pobres lo allega.
9El que aparta su oído para no oir la ley, su oración también es abominable.
10El que hace errar á los rectos por el mal camino, él caerá en su misma sima: mas los perfectos heredarán el bien.
11El hombre rico es sabio en su opinión: mas el pobre entendido lo examinará.
12Cuando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; mas cuando los impíos son levantados, es buscado el hombre.
13El que encubre sus pecados, no prosperará: mas el que los confiesa y se aparta, alcanzará misericordia.
14Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre está temeroso: mas el que endurece su corazón, caerá en mal.
15León rugiente y oso hambriento, es el príncipe impío sobre el pueblo pobre.
16El príncipe falto de entendimiento multiplicará los agravios: mas el que aborrece la avaricia, prolongará sus días.
17El hombre que hace violencia con sangre de persona, huirá hasta el sepulcro, y nadie le detendrá.
18El que en integridad camina, será salvo; mas el de perversos caminos caerá en alguno.
19El que labra su tierra, se hartará de pan: mas el que sigue los ociosos, se hartará de pobreza.
20El hombre de verdad tendrá muchas bendiciones: mas el que se apresura á enriquecer, no será sin culpa.
21Tener acepción de personas, no es bueno: hasta por un bocado de pan prevaricará el hombre.
22Apresúrase á ser rico el hombre de mal ojo; y no conoce que le ha de venir pobreza.
23El que reprende al hombre, hallará después mayor gracia que el que lisonjea con la lengua.
24El que roba á su padre ó á su madre, y dice que no es maldad, compañero es del hombre destruidor.
25El altivo de ánimo suscita contiendas: mas el que en Jehová confía, medrará.
26El que confía en su corazón es necio; mas el que camina en sabiduría, será salvo.
27El que da al pobre, no tendrá pobreza: mas el que aparta sus ojos, tendrá muchas maldiciones.
28Cuando los impíos son levantados, esconderáse el hombre: mas cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.

1The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
8He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
11The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

19One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
22A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn’t know that poverty waits for him.
23One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.
24Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.
25One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
