1Los malvados huyen, incluso cuando nadie los persigue, pero los justos tienen la audacia confiada de los leones.
2Cuando un país está en rebelión, tiene muchos gobernantes; pero un gobernante sabio e inteligente proporciona fuerza y continuidad.
3Cuando un pobre oprime a los pobres, es como una lluvia fuerte que golpea las cosechas.
4Los que rechazan la ley alaban a los malvados, pero los que guardan la ley luchan contra ellos.
5Los malvados no entienden nada acerca de la justicia, pero los que siguen al Señor, la entienden por completo.
6Mejor es ser pobre y tener integridad, que ser tramposo y rico.
7Si guardas la ley, eres un hijo sabio; pero si te juntas con malas compañías serás vergüenza de tu padre.
8Cualquiera que se haga rico cobrando intereses y ganancias, lo estará ahorrando para alguien que es bondadoso con los pobres.
9Dios odia las oraciones de los que ignoran la ley.
10Los que conducen a los justos por malos caminos, caerán en sus propias trampas; pero los inocentes recibirán una buena recompensa.
11Los ricos se ven a sí mismos como sabios, pero los pobres con inteligencia pueden verlos como son en realidad.
12Cuando los justos ganan, todos celebran; pero cuando los malvados llegan al poder, la gente se esconde.
13Los que ocultan sus pecados no prosperarán; pero los que confiesan y se apartan de sus pecados, serán tratados con bondad.
14Benditos son los que siempre respetan al Señor, pero los obstinados terminarán en gran tribulación.
15Un gobernante malvado que extorsiona a los pobres es como un león rugiente o un oso.
16Un gobernante malvado que extorsiona a su pueblo, pero se niega a sacar provecho ilegalmente, vivirá mucho tiempo.
17El culpable de asesinato seguirá huyendo de lo que hizo hasta morir. No trates de detenerlo.
18Si tienes integridad, estarás a salvo; pero si vives una vida torcida, caerás.
19Si cultivas la tierra, tendrás abundante alimento; pero si sales a cazar fantasías, terminarás con las manos vacías.
20Si eres digno de confianza, serás recompensado ricamente; pero si tratas de hacer dinero rápido, no quedarás sin castigo.
21Mostrar favoritismo no es bueno, pero algunos harán el mal por un trozo de pan.
22Los envidiosos se apresuran para volverse ricos; no se dan cuenta de que terminarán pobres.
23La crítica honesta es de mayor estima que la adulación.
24El hombre que roba a su madre y a su madre, y dice “no es un crimen”, está a un solo paso de volverse un asesino.
25Los avaros crean problemas, pero los que confían en el Señor prosperarán.
26Los que confían en su propia mente son necios, pero los que siguen caminos sabios se mantendrán a salvo.
27Si das al pobre, no tendrás necesidad; pero si ignoras su necesidad, caerán muchas maldiciones sobre ti.
28Cuando los malvados llegan al poder, la gente se esconde; pero cuando caen, a los justos les va bien.

1HUYE el impío sin que nadie lo persiga: mas el justo está confiado como un leoncillo.
2Por la rebelión de la tierra sus príncipes son muchos: mas por el hombre entendido y sabio permanecerá sin mutación.
3El hombre pobre y robador de los pobres, es lluvia de avenida y sin pan.
4Los que dejan la ley, alaban á los impíos: mas los que la guardan, contenderán con ellos.
5Los hombres malos no entienden el juicio: mas los que buscan á Jehová, entienden todas las cosas.
6Mejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad, que el de perversos caminos, y rico.
7El que guarda la ley es hijo prudente: mas el que es compañero de glotones, avergüenza á su padre.
8El que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y crecido interés, para que se dé á los pobres lo allega.
9El que aparta su oído para no oir la ley, su oración también es abominable.
10El que hace errar á los rectos por el mal camino, él caerá en su misma sima: mas los perfectos heredarán el bien.
11El hombre rico es sabio en su opinión: mas el pobre entendido lo examinará.
12Cuando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; mas cuando los impíos son levantados, es buscado el hombre.
13El que encubre sus pecados, no prosperará: mas el que los confiesa y se aparta, alcanzará misericordia.
14Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre está temeroso: mas el que endurece su corazón, caerá en mal.
15León rugiente y oso hambriento, es el príncipe impío sobre el pueblo pobre.
16El príncipe falto de entendimiento multiplicará los agravios: mas el que aborrece la avaricia, prolongará sus días.
17El hombre que hace violencia con sangre de persona, huirá hasta el sepulcro, y nadie le detendrá.
18El que en integridad camina, será salvo; mas el de perversos caminos caerá en alguno.
19El que labra su tierra, se hartará de pan: mas el que sigue los ociosos, se hartará de pobreza.
20El hombre de verdad tendrá muchas bendiciones: mas el que se apresura á enriquecer, no será sin culpa.
21Tener acepción de personas, no es bueno: hasta por un bocado de pan prevaricará el hombre.
22Apresúrase á ser rico el hombre de mal ojo; y no conoce que le ha de venir pobreza.
23El que reprende al hombre, hallará después mayor gracia que el que lisonjea con la lengua.
24El que roba á su padre ó á su madre, y dice que no es maldad, compañero es del hombre destruidor.
25El altivo de ánimo suscita contiendas: mas el que en Jehová confía, medrará.
26El que confía en su corazón es necio; mas el que camina en sabiduría, será salvo.
27El que da al pobre, no tendrá pobreza: mas el que aparta sus ojos, tendrá muchas maldiciones.
28Cuando los impíos son levantados, esconderáse el hombre: mas cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.

1The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
8He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
11The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
14Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
18Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
19He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
20A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.
22He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
23He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

14Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
15As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people.
16A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.
17A man who is tormented by blood guilt will be a fugitive until death. No one will support him.
18Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe; but one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.
19One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21To show partiality is not good, yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.
22A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn’t know that poverty waits for him.
23One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.
24Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.
25One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in the LORD will prosper.
26One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.
27One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
