Certamente eu sou o mais bruto dos homens, e não tenho entendimento humano.
Ciertamente más rudo soy yo que ninguno, ni tengo entendimiento de hombre.
Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.
“Surely I am the most ignorant man, and don’t have a man’s understanding.
Não aprendi sabedoria, nem tenho conhecimento do Santo Deus .
Yo ni aprendí sabiduría, ni conozco la ciencia del Santo.
I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
I have not learned wisdom, neither do I have the knowledge of the Holy One.
Quem subiu ao céu, e desceu? Quem juntou os ventos com suas mãos? Quem amarrou as águas numa capa? Quem estabeleceu todos os limites da terra? Qual é o seu nome? e qual é o nome de seu filho, se tu o sabes?
¿Quién subió al cielo, y descendió? ¿quién encerró los vientos en sus puños? ¿quién ató las aguas en un paño? ¿quién afirmó todos los términos de la tierra? ¿cuál es su nombre, y el nombre de su hijo, si sabes?
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

Toda palavra de Deus é pura; é escudo para os que nele confiam.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
“Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Nada acrescentes às suas palavras, para que ele não te repreenda, e sejas mostrado como mentiroso.
No añadas á sus palabras, porque no te reprenda, y seas hallado mentiroso.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Don’t you add to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.
Duas coisas eu te pedi; não as negues a mim antes que eu morra.
Dos cosas te he demandado; no me las niegues antes que muera.
Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
“Two things I have asked of you. Don’t deny me before I die.
Afasta de mim a inutilidade e palavra mentirosa; e não me dês nem pobreza nem riqueza, mantém-me com o pão que me for necessário.
Vanidad y palabra mentirosa aparta de mí. No me des pobreza ni riquezas; manténme del pan que he menester;
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me,
Para que não aconteça de eu ficar farto e te negar, dizendo: Quem é o SENHOR?Nem também que eu empobreça, e venha a furtar, e desonre o nome do meu Deus.
No sea que me harte, y te niegue, y diga, ¿Quién es Jehová? ó no sea que siendo pobre, hurte, y blasfeme el nombre de mi Dios.
Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Não difames do servo ao seu senhor, para que ele não te amaldiçoe e fiques culpado.
No acuses al siervo ante su señor, porque no te maldiga, y peques.
Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.
“Don’t slander a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.
Há gente que amaldiçoa a seu pai e não bendiz à sua mãe;
Hay generación que maldice á su padre, y á su madre no bendice.
There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn’t bless their mother.
Há gente que é pura aos seus próprios olhos, mas que não foi lavada de sua imundície;
Hay generación limpia en su opinión, si bien no se ha limpiado su inmundicia.
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Há gente cujos olhos são arrogantes, e cujas sobrancelhas são levantadas;

Há gente cujos dentes são espadas, e cujos queixos são facas, para devorarem aos aflitos da terra aos aflitos, e aos necessitados dentre os homens.

A sanguessuga tem duas filhas: “Dá” e “Dá”; estas três coisas nunca se fartam, e quatro nunca dizem “É o suficiente”:

The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:

O mundo dos mortos, o ventre feminino estéril, a terra que não se farta de água, e o fogo que nunca diz estar satisfeito.
El sepulcro, y la matriz estéril, la tierra no harta de aguas, y el fuego que jamás dice, Basta.
The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.
Sheol, the barren womb, the earth that is not satisfied with water, and the fire that doesn’t say, ‘Enough!’
Os olhos que zombam do pai ou desprezam obedecer à mãe, os corvos do riacho os arrancarão, e os filhotes de abutre os comerão.
El ojo que escarnece á su padre, y menosprecia la enseñanza de la madre, los cuervos lo saquen de la arroyada, y tráguenlo los hijos del águila.
The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

Estas três coisas me maravilham, e quatro que não entendo:
Tres cosas me son ocultas; aun tampoco sé la cuarta:
There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:

O caminho da águia no céu, o caminho da serpente na rocha, o caminho do navio no meio do mar, e o caminho do homem com uma moça.
El rastro del águila en el aire; el rastro de la culebra sobre la peña; el rastro de la nave en medio de la mar; y el rastro del hombre en la moza.
The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.

Assim é o caminho da mulher adúltera: ela come, limpa sua boca, e diz: Não fiz mal algum.
Tal es el rastro de la mujer adúltera: come, y limpia su boca, y dice: No he hecho maldad.
Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

Por três coisas a terra se alvoroça, e por quatro que não pode suportar:
Por tres cosas se alborota la tierra, y la cuarta no puede sufrir:
For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:
“For three things the earth trembles, and under four, it can’t bear up:
Pelo servo que governa como rei; pelo tolo que se enche de comida;
Por el siervo cuando reinare; y por el necio cuando se hartare de pan;
For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;
For a servant when he is king, a fool when he is filled with food,
Pela mulher odiada, quando se casa; e pela serva quando toma o lugar de sua senhora.
Por la aborrecida cuando se casare; y por la sierva cuando heredare á su señora.
For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
for an unloved woman when she is married, and a servant who is heir to her mistress.
Estas quatro coisas são pequenas sobre a terra, porém muito sábias:

There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:
“There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise:
As formigas não são criaturas fortes, mas no verão preparam sua comida;
Las hormigas, pueblo no fuerte, y en el verano preparan su comida;
The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
The ants are not a strong people, yet they provide their food in the summer.
Os roedores são um “povo” fraco, mas fazem suas casas nas rochas;
Los conejos, pueblo nada esforzado, y ponen su casa en la piedra;
The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;
The hyraxes are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks.
Os gafanhotos não têm rei; mas todos saem em bandos;
Las langostas, no tienen rey, y salen todas acuadrilladas;
The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
The locusts have no king, yet they advance in ranks.
As lagartixas podem ser pegas com as mãos, e mesmo assim estão nos palácios dos reis.
La araña, ase con las manos, y está en palacios de rey.
The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.
You can catch a lizard with your hands, yet it is in kings’ palaces.
Estes três tem um bom andar, e quatro que se movem muito bem:
Tres cosas hay de hermoso andar, y la cuarta pasea muy bien:
There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:
“There are three things which are stately in their march, four which are stately in going:
O leão, forte entre os animais, que não foge de ninguém;
El león, fuerte entre todos los animales, que no torna atrás por nadie;
A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
The lion, which is mightiest among animals, and doesn’t turn away for any;
O galo, o bode, e o rei com seu exército.
El lebrel ceñido de lomos; asimismo el macho cabrío; y un rey contra el cual ninguno se levanta.
A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

Se agiste como tolo, exaltando-te, e se planejaste o mal, põe tua mão sobre a boca;
Si caiste, fué porque te enalteciste; y si mal pensaste, pon el dedo sobre la boca.
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
“If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, put your hand over your mouth.
Porque como o forçar do leite produz manteiga, e o forçar do nariz produz sangue, assim também o forçar da ira produz briga.
Ciertamente el que exprime la leche, sacará manteca; y el que recio se suena las narices, sacará sangre: y el que provoca la ira, causará contienda.
Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
