1Las palabras de Lemuel, rey de Massa: la enseñanza que recibió de su madre.
2¿Qué voy a decirte, oh Lemuel, mi hijo mayor? y qué, oh hijo de mi cuerpo? y qué, oh hijo de mis juramentos?
3No des tu fuerza a las mujeres, ni tus caminos a lo que es la destrucción de los reyes.
4No es para reyes, oh Lemuel, no es para reyes tomar el vino, ni para los gobernantes decir: ¿Dónde está la bebida fuerte?
5Por temor que bebiendo vengan a no tener respeto por la ley, juzgando injustamente la causa de los que están en problemas.
6Den vino al que está cerca de la destrucción, y al que tiene amargura el alma;
7Beban, y su necesidad se apartará de su mente, y el recuerdo de su tribulación desaparecerá.
8Deja que tu boca se abra para aquellos que no tienen voz, en la causa de aquellos que están listos para la muerte.
9Deja que tu boca se abra, juzgue con razón, y tome decisiones correctas en la causa de los pobres y los necesitados.
10¿Quién puede descubrir a una mujer virtuosa? Por su precio es mucho más alto que las joyas.
11El corazón de su marido tiene fe en ella, y él tendrá provecho en toda su medida.
12Ella le hace bien y no mal todos los días de su vida.
13Ella obtiene lana y lino, trabajando en el negocio de sus manos.
14Ella es como las naves mercantes, obteniendo comida de muy lejos.
15Se levanta cuando aún es de noche, y da carne a su familia, y su comida a sus siervas.
16Después de mirar un campo con cuidado, lo consigue por un precio, plantando un jardín de vid con el beneficio de su trabajo.
17Ella pone una banda de fuerza a su alrededor, y hace que sus brazos sean fuertes.
18Ella ve que su mercadeo es beneficioso para ella: su luz no se apaga durante la noche.
19Ella pone sus manos en la varilla de trabajo de tela, y sus dedos toman el volante.
20Sus manos están extendidas a los pobres; sí, ella es generosa con quienes lo necesitan.
21Ella no tiene miedo de la nieve por su familia, porque todos los que están en su casa están vestidos de ropas dobles.
22Ella se hace cojines de costura; su ropa es blanca y lila.
23Su marido es un hombre notable en el lugar público, cuando toma su asiento entre los hombres responsables de la tierra.
24Ella hace túnicas de lino y les da un precio, y los comerciantes toman sus vendas de tela por un precio.
25La fuerza y el respeto a sí mismos son su vestimenta; ella está enfrentando el futuro con una sonrisa.
26Su boca está abierta para dar sabiduría, y la ley de misericordia está en su lengua.
27Ella le presta atención a las costumbres de su familia, no toma su comida sin trabajar por ella.
28Sus hijos se levantan y le dan honor, y su marido la alaba, diciendo:
29Mujeres innumerables han hecho bien, pero tú eres mejor que todas ellas.
30Las miradas hermosas son un engaño, y una hermosa forma no tiene valor; pero una mujer que tiene temor del Señor debe ser alabada.
31Dale crédito por lo que han hecho sus manos: déjala ser alabada por sus obras en el lugar público.

1PALABRAS del rey Lemuel; la profecía con que le enseñó su madre.
2¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
3No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
4No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
5No sea que bebiendo olviden la ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.
6Dad la cerveza al desfallecido, y el vino á los de amargo ánimo:
7Beban, y olvídense de su necesidad, y de su miseria no más se acuerden.
8Abre tu boca por el mudo, en el juicio de todos los hijos de muerte.
9Abre tu boca, juzga justicia, y el derecho del pobre y del menesteroso.
10Mujer fuerte, ¿quién la hallará? porque su estima sobrepuja largamente á la de piedras preciosas.
11El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.
12Darále ella bien y no mal, todos los días de su vida.
13Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró de sus manos.
14Fué como navío de mercader: trae su pan de lejos.
15Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.
16Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.
17Ciñó sus lomos de fortaleza, y esforzó sus brazos.
18Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
19Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.
20Alargó su mano al pobre, y extendió sus manos al menesteroso.
21No tendrá temor de la nieve por su familia, porque toda su familia está vestida de ropas dobles.
22Ella se hizo tapices; de lino fino y púrpura es su vestido.
23Conocido es su marido en las puertas, cuando se sienta con los ancianos de la tierra.
24Hizo telas, y vendió; y dió cintas al mercader.
25Fortaleza y honor son su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.
26Abrió su boca con sabiduría: y la ley de clemencia está en su lengua.
27Considera los caminos de su casa, y no come el pan de balde.
28Levantáronse sus hijos, y llamáronla bienaventurada; y su marido también la alabó.
29Muchas mujeres hicieron el bien; mas tú las sobrepujaste á todas.
30Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura: la mujer que teme á Jehová, ésa será alabada.
31Dadle el fruto de sus manos, y alábenla en las puertas sus hechos.
King James Version
1The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
4It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
5Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
9Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

1The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
2“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
3Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
5lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
6Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
9Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
10Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
12She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
14She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
15She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
16She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
17She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
18She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
19She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
24She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
25Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
26She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.
27She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.
28Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
29“Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”
30Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
