Que te dirai-je, mon fils ? Que te dirai-je, fils de mes entrailles ? Que te dirai-je, mon fils, objet de mes vœux ?
¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
Ne livre pas ta vigueur aux femmes, et tes voies à celles qui perdent les rois.
No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
Ce n'est point aux rois, Lamuel, ce n'est point aux rois de boire du vin, ni aux puissants de rechercher les liqueurs fermentées :
No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

ALEPH. Qui peut trouver une femme forte ? Son prix l'emporte de loin sur celui des perles.

BETH. Le cœur de son mari a confiance en elle, et les profits ne lui feront pas défaut.

DALETH. Elle recherche de la laine et du lin, et travaille de sa main joyeuse.
Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró de sus manos.

HÉ. Elle est comme le vaisseau du marchand, elle apporte son pain de loin.
Fué como navío de mercader: trae su pan de lejos.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

VAV. Elle se lève lorsqu'il est encore nuit, et elle donne la nourriture à sa maison, et la tâche à ses servantes.
Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

ZAÏN. Elle pense à un champ, et elle l'acquiert ; du fruit de ses mains, elle plante une vigne.
Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.

HETH. Elle ceint de force ses reins, et elle affermit ses bras.

TETH. Elle sent que son gain est bon ; sa lampe ne s'éteint pas pendant la nuit.
Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
YOD. Elle met la main à la quenouille, et ses doigts prennent le fuseau.
Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.

LAMED. Elle ne craint pas la neige pour sa maison, car toute sa maison est vêtue de cramoisi.

SAMECH. Elle fait des chemises et les vend, et elle livre des ceintures au marchand.
Hizo telas, y vendió; y dió cintas al mercader.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
AÏN. La force et la grâce sont sa parure, et elle se rit de l'avenir.
Fortaleza y honor son su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

PHÉ. Elle ouvre la bouche avec sagesse, et les bonnes paroles sont sur sa langue.
Abrió su boca con sabiduría: y la ley de clemencia está en su lengua.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

TSADÉ. Elle surveille les sentiers de sa maison, et elle ne mange pas le pain d'oisiveté.

QOPH. Ses fils se lèvent et la proclament heureuse ; son époux se lève et lui donne des éloges :

SCHIN. Trompeuse est la grâce, et vaine est la beauté ; la femme qui craint Yahweh est celle qui sera louée.
