The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
Quoi, mon fils ? et quoi, fils de mon ventre ? et quoi, fils de mes vœux ?
¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
Ne donne point ta force aux femmes, ni tes voies à celles qui perdent les rois.
No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
Ce n’est point aux rois, Lemuel, ce n’est point aux rois de boire du vin, ni aux grands de dire : Où sont les boissons fortes ?
No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
de peur qu’ils ne boivent, et n’oublient le statut, et ne fassent fléchir le jugement de tous les fils de l’affliction.
No sea que bebiendo olviden la ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.
Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Donnez de la boisson forte à celui qui va périr, et du vin à ceux qui ont l’amertume dans le cœur :
Dad la cerveza al desfallecido, y el vino á los de amargo ánimo:
Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

qu’il boive et qu’il oublie sa pauvreté, et ne se souvienne plus de ses peines.
Beban, y olvídense de su necesidad, y de su miseria no más se acuerden.

*Une femme vertueuse ! Qui la trouvera ? Car son prix est bien au-delà des rubis.
Mujer fuerte, ¿quién la hallará? porque su estima sobrepuja largamente á la de piedras preciosas.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
Le cœur de son mari se confie en elle, et il ne manquera point de butin.
El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Elle lui fait du bien et non du mal, tous les jours de sa vie.
Darále ella bien y no mal, todos los días de su vida.

Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró de sus manos.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

Elle est comme les navires d’un marchand, elle amène son pain de loin.
Fué como navío de mercader: trae su pan de lejos.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Elle se lève quand il est encore nuit, et elle donne la nourriture à sa maison, et la tâche à ses servantes.
Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
Elle pense à un champ, et elle l’acquiert ; du fruit de ses mains elle plante une vigne.
Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Elle ceint ses reins de force, et fortifie ses bras.
Ciñó sus lomos de fortaleza, y esforzó sus brazos.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Elle éprouve que son trafic est bon ; de nuit sa lampe ne s’éteint pas.
Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
Elle met la main à la quenouille, et ses doigts tiennent le fuseau.
Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Elle étend sa main vers l’affligé, et tend ses mains au nécessiteux.
Alargó su mano al pobre, y extendió sus manos al menesteroso.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

Elle ne craint pas la neige pour sa maison, car toute sa maison est vêtue d’écarlate.
No tendrá temor de la nieve por su familia, porque toda su familia está vestida de ropas dobles.

Elle fait des chemises, et les vend ; et elle livre des ceintures au marchand.
Hizo telas, y vendió; y dió cintas al mercader.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Elle est vêtue de force et de dignité, et elle se rit du jour à venir.
Fortaleza y honor son su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Elle ouvre sa bouche avec sagesse, et la loi de la bonté est sur sa langue.
Abrió su boca con sabiduría: y la ley de clemencia está en su lengua.

La grâce est trompeuse, et la beauté est vanité ; la femme qui craint l’Éternel, c’est elle qui sera louée.
Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura: la mujer que teme á Jehová, ésa será alabada.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
