The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
Quoi ? mon fils ? quoi, fils de mon ventre ? eh quoi ? mon fils, pour lequel j’ai tant fait de voeux ?
¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
Ne donne point ta force aux femmes, et ne mets point ton étude à détruire les Rois.
No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
Lémuel, ce n’est point aux Rois, ce n’est point aux Rois de boire le vin, ni aux Princes de boire la cervoise.
No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
De peur qu’ayant bu, ils n’oublient l’ordonnance, et qu’ils n’altèrent le droit de tous les pauvres affligés.
No sea que bebiendo olviden la ley, y perviertan el derecho de todos los hijos afligidos.

Aleph. Qui est-ce qui trouvera une vaillante femme ? car son prix surpasse de beaucoup les perles.
Mujer fuerte, ¿quién la hallará? porque su estima sobrepuja largamente á la de piedras preciosas.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Beth. Le coeur de son mari s’assure en elle, et il ne manquera point de dépouilles.
El corazón de su marido está en ella confiado, y no tendrá necesidad de despojo.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Guimel. Elle lui fait du bien tous les jours de sa vie, et jamais du mal.

Daleth. Elle cherche de la laine et du lin, et elle fait ce qu’elle veut de ses mains.
Buscó lana y lino, y con voluntad labró de sus manos.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

He. Elle est comme les navires d’un marchand, elle amène son pain de loin.
Fué como navío de mercader: trae su pan de lejos.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

Vau. Elle se lève lorsqu’il est encore nuit, elle distribue la nourriture nécessaire à sa maison, et elle donne à ses servantes leur tâche.
Levantóse aun de noche, y dió comida á su familia, y ración á sus criadas.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Zajin. Elle considère un champ, et l’acquiert ; et elle plante la vigne du fruit de ses mains.
Consideró la heredad, y compróla; y plantó viña del fruto de sus manos.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

Heth. Elle ceint ses reins de force, et fortifie ses bras.
Ciñó sus lomos de fortaleza, y esforzó sus brazos.

Teth. Elle éprouve que son trafic est bon ; sa lampe ne s’éteint point la nuit.
Gustó que era buena su granjería: su candela no se apagó de noche.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
Jod. Elle met ses mains au fuseau, et ses mains tiennent la quenouille.
Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Lamed. Elle ne craint point la neige pour sa famille, car toute sa famille est vêtue de vêtements doubles.

Samech. Elle fait du linge, et le vend ; et elle fait des ceintures, qu’elle donne au marchand.
Hizo telas, y vendió; y dió cintas al mercader.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Hajin. La force et la magnificence est son vêtement, et elle se rit du jour à venir.
Fortaleza y honor son su vestidura; y en el día postrero reirá.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Pe. Elle ouvre sa bouche avec sagesse, et la Loi de la charité est sur sa langue.
Abrió su boca con sabiduría: y la ley de clemencia está en su lengua.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Koph. Ses enfants se lèvent, et la disent bienheureuse ; son mari aussi, et il la loue, en disant :

Scin. La grâce trompe, et la beauté s’évanouit ; mais la femme qui craint l’Eternel, sera celle qui sera louée.
Engañosa es la gracia, y vana la hermosura: la mujer que teme á Jehová, ésa será alabada.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Thau. Donnez-lui des fruits de ses mains, et que ses oeuvres la louent aux portes.
