“Ó meu filho, filho do meu ventre, filho que eu consagrei ao Senhor, este é o meu conselho:
¿Qué, hijo mío? ¿y qué, hijo de mi vientre? ¿y qué, hijo de mis deseos?
What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
Não jogue fora sua vida com mulheres, e seu vigor com aquelas que acabam destruindo reis.
No des á las mujeres tu fuerza, ni tus caminos á lo que es para destruir los reyes.
Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

“Não convém aos reis, ó Lemuel, beber muito vinho, não convém aos governantes misturar bebidas fortes.
No es de los reyes, oh Lemuel, no es de los reyes beber vino, ni de los príncipes la cerveza.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Um rei que bebe muito acaba esquecendo suas obrigações, confunde as leis e não julga com justiça os fracos e pobres de seu país.

Antes de o sol raiar ela já está em pé, preparando a primeira refeição da família e planejando o serviço de suas servas.

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

Aplicó sus manos al huso, y sus manos tomaron la rueca.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Alargó su mano al pobre, y extendió sus manos al menesteroso.

Quando chega o inverno, ela não precisa se preocupar porque já preparou roupas quentes para toda a família.

Suas grandes virtudes são a energia e a honra. Ela não se preocupa com o futuro.

Os encantos de uma mulher podem ser apenas uma ilusão, e a beleza não dura para sempre. A verdadeira beleza, a verdadeira honra de uma mulher está em temer o Senhor.
