Car je vous fais un cadeau précieux ; ne délaissez point ma loi.
Porque os doy buena enseñanza; no desamparéis mi ley.

Sabiduría ante todo: adquiere sabiduría: y ante toda tu posesión adquiere inteligencia.

Entoure-les de palissades, et elles t'exalteront ; honore-les, afin qu'elles t'embrassent ;

Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

afin qu'elles mettent sur ta tête une couronne de grâces, et te couvrent d'une couronne de délices.
Adorno de gracia dará á tu cabeza: corona de hermosura te entregará.
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Écoute, mon fils, et recueille mes paroles, et les années de ta vie se multiplieront, autant que se multiplieront les voies de ta vie.
Oye, hijo mío, y recibe mis razones; y se te multiplicarán años de vida.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Car je t'enseignerai les voies de la sagesse, et je te ferai cheminer dans les droits sentiers.
Por el camino de la sabiduría te he encaminado, y por veredas derechas te he hecho andar.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

Si tu marches, rien n'entravera tes pas ; si tu cours, tu ne sentiras point la fatigue.
Cuando anduvieres no se estrecharán tus pasos; y si corrieres, no tropezarás.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.
Retiens mes instructions, ne les néglige point ; mais garde-les en toi- même toute ta vie.
Ten el consejo, no lo dejes; guárdalo, porque eso es tu vida.
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.

Car ils ne s'endormiront pas qu'ils n'aient fait quelque mal ; le sommeil leur est enlevé, et ils ne reposent pas.
Porque no duermen ellos, si no hicieren mal; y pierden su sueño, si no han hecho caer.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

Car ils se nourrissent du pain de l'impiété, et s'enivrent du vin des pécheurs.

N'incline ni à droite ni à gauche, et retire tes pieds de la voie mauvaise ; car Dieu seul connaît les voies de la droite, et celles de la gauche sont tortueuses.
