Lo más importante que debes hacer es adquirir sabiduría, y también buen juicio.
Sabiduría ante todo: adquiere sabiduría: y ante toda tu posesión adquiere inteligencia.

Ama la sabiduría, y ella te engrandecerá; aférrate a ella y te honrará;

Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.

Adorno de gracia dará á tu cabeza: corona de hermosura te entregará.

Hijo mío, escucha y obedece mis palabras, y tendrás una larga vida.

Yo te llevo por el camino de la sabiduría y te guío por sendas de rectitud.

Cuando camines por ellos, nada te estorbará ni tropezarás al correr.

Aférrate a mi instrucción, no la olvides; pues ella es tu vida.

No hagas lo que hacen los malvados, ni sigas el ejemplo de los malhechores.
No entres por la vereda de los impíos, ni vayas por el camino de los malos.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

Mantente lejos de esa gente; sí, aléjate de ellos y sigue adelante.
Desampárala, no pases por ella; apártate de ella, pasa.

Los malvados no duermen hasta haber hecho lo malo; no pueden descansar hasta hacer que alguien tropiece y caiga.
Porque no duermen ellos, si no hicieren mal; y pierden su sueño, si no han hecho caer.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

La senda de los justos se parece a los primeros rayos de luz del amanecer, que brillan cada vez más hasta que es pleno día.

Hijo mío, toma en cuenta mis consejos, escucha atentamente mis palabras.

No pierdas de vista mis palabras, grábalas en lo más profundo de tu corazón.

Porque ellas traen vida y salud a quienes las hallan.
