Yo quiero daros un rico don, no abandonéis mis preceptos.
Porque os doy buena enseñanza; no desamparéis mi ley.

Porque también yo fui un hijo querido de mi padre, y amado tiernamente, como único de mi madre,

Procura adquirir la sabiduría, veas de alcanzar la prudencia, y no te olvides ni apartes las palabras de mi boca.

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

No abandones la sabiduría, porque ella será tu protectora: ámala y ella será tu salvación.

El principio de la sabiduría es trabajar por adquirirla. Y así, a costa de cuanto posees, procura adquirir la prudencia;
Sabiduría ante todo: adquiere sabiduría: y ante toda tu posesión adquiere inteligencia.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.
aplica todos tus esfuerzos para alcanzarla; y ella te ensalzará; te llenará de gloria cuando la estreches en tus brazos.
Engrandécela, y ella te engrandecerá: ella te honrará, cuando tú la hubieres abrazado.
Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her.
Añadirá adornos graciosos a tu cabeza, y ceñirá tus sienes con esclarecida diadema.
Adorno de gracia dará á tu cabeza: corona de hermosura te entregará.
She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”
¡Oh hijo mío!, escucha y recibe mis documentos, para que logres muchos años de vida.
Oye, hijo mío, y recibe mis razones; y se te multiplicarán años de vida.
Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
Listen, my son, and receive my sayings. The years of your life will be many.
Yo te mostraré el camino de la sabiduría, te guiaré por la senda de la justicia;
Por el camino de la sabiduría te he encaminado, y por veredas derechas te he hecho andar.
I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
I have taught you in the way of wisdom. I have led you in straight paths.
y entrado que hayas en ella, no se verán tus pies en estrechuras, ni hallarás tropiezo alguno en su carrera.
Cuando anduvieres no se estrecharán tus pasos; y si corrieres, no tropezarás.
When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
When you go, your steps will not be hampered. When you run, you will not stumble.
Mantente adicto a la instrucción: nunca la abandones; guárdala bien, pues ella es tu vida.
Ten el consejo, no lo dejes; guárdalo, porque eso es tu vida.
Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
Take firm hold of instruction. Don’t let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.
No te aficiones a los caminos de los impíos; ni te agrade la senda de los malvados;
No entres por la vereda de los impíos, ni vayas por el camino de los malos.
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men.
húyela, no pongas el pie en ella; desvíate y abandónala.
Desampárala, no pases por ella; apártate de ella, pasa.
Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on.
Porque los impíos no duermen, si antes no han hecho algún mal; y si primero no han causado la ruina de alguno, no pueden conciliar el sueño.
Porque no duermen ellos, si no hicieren mal; y pierden su sueño, si no han hecho caer.
For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.

Como de pan se alimentan de la impiedad, y beben como vino la injusticia.
Porque comen pan de maldad, y beben vino de robos.

La senda de los justos es como una luz brillante, que va en aumento y crece hasta el mediodía.
Mas la senda de los justos es como la luz de la aurora, que va en aumento hasta que el día es perfecto.
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Al contrario, el camino de los impíos está lleno de tinieblas; no advierten el precipicio en que van a caer.
El camino de los impíos es como la oscuridad: no saben en qué tropiezan.
The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.

Escucha, hijo mío, mis razonamientos, y atiende mis palabras.
Hijo mío, está atento á mis palabras; inclina tu oído á mis razones.
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

Jamás las pierdas de vista, deposítalas en lo íntimo de tu corazón;
No se aparten de tus ojos; guárdalas en medio de tu corazón.

porque son vida para quienes la reciben, y salud o medicina para todo hombre.

Examina la senda en que pones tus pies, y serán firmes todos tus pasos.

No tuerzas ni a la diestra ni a la siniestra; retira tu pie de todo mal paso; porque ama el Señor los caminos que están a la derecha; pero los que caen a la siniestra son caminos de perdición. Mas él hará que sea recto tu camino, y que avances felizmente en tu viaje.
No te apartes á diestra, ni á siniestra: aparta tu pie del mal.
