Mein Sohn, hast du dich für deinen Nächsten verbürgt, für einen Fremden dich durch Handschlag verpflichtet;

HIJO mío, si salieres fiador por tu amigo, si tocaste tu mano por el extraño,

My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger,
