Así vendrá tu necesidad como caminante, y tu pobreza como hombre de escudo.

No codicies su hermosura en tu corazón, ni ella te prenda con sus ojos:
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Denn wegen einer hurerischen Frau kommt man bis auf einen Laib Brot, und eines Mannes Frau stellt einer kostbaren Seele nach.

For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

Sollte jemand Feuer in seinen Gewandbausch nehmen, ohne dass seine Kleider verbrännten?
¿Tomará el hombre fuego en su seno, sin que sus vestidos se quemen?
Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
Can a man scoop fire into his lap, and his clothes not be burned?
Oder sollte jemand über glühende Kohlen gehen, ohne dass seine Füße versengt würden?
¿Andará el hombre sobre las brasas, sin que sus pies se abrasen?
Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

So der, der zu der Frau seines Nächsten eingeht: Keiner, der sie berührt, wird für schuldlos gehalten werden.
Así el que entrare á la mujer de su prójimo; no será sin culpa cualquiera que la tocare.
So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.

und wenn er gefunden wird, kann er siebenfach erstatten, kann alles Gut seines Hauses hingeben.
Empero tomado, paga las setenas, da toda la sustancia de su casa.

Mas el que comete adulterio con la mujer, es falto de entendimiento: corrompe su alma el que tal hace.
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

Plage und Schande wird er finden, und seine Schmach wird nicht ausgelöscht werden.
Plaga y vergüenza hallará; y su afrenta nunca será raída.
A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

Denn Eifersucht ist eines Mannes Grimm, und am Tag der Rache schont er nicht.
