¿Por ventura la sabiduría no está clamando, y no levanta su voz la prudencia?
¿NO clama la sabiduría, y da su voz la inteligencia?
Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?
Puesta en pie en las más altas y elevadas cimas, en medio de las carreteras, en las encrucijadas de los caminos,
En los altos cabezos, junto al camino, á las encrucijadas de las veredas se para;
She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.
junto a las puertas de la ciudad, en la misma entrada, da voces, diciendo:
En el lugar de las puertas, á la entrada de la ciudad, á la entrada de las puertas da voces:
She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:
¡Oh varones!, a vosotros es a quienes estoy continuamente clamando, y a vosotros todos, hijos de los hombres, dirijo mis palabras.
Oh hombres, á vosotros clamo; y mi voz es á los hijos de los hombres.
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
“I call to you men! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.
Aprended, hombres incautos, la prudencia, y estadme atentos, vosotros necios.
Entended, simples, discreción; y vosotros, locos, entrad en cordura.
O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!
Escuchad, porque yo voy a hablar de cosas grandes, y van a abrirse mis labios para anunciar la justicia.
Oid, porque hablaré cosas excelentes; y abriré mis labios para cosas rectas.
Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

Publicará mi boca la verdad que he estado meditando, y mis labios abominarán la impiedad.

puesto que vale más la sabiduría que todas las joyas preciosísimas; nada de cuanto puede apetecerse es comparable con ella.

El temor del Señor aborrece el mal; yo detesto la arrogancia y la soberbia, todo proceder torcido y toda lengua dolosa.
El temor de Jehová es aborrecer el mal; la soberbia y la arrogancia, y el mal camino y la boca perversa, aborrezco.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

A mí me pertenece el don de consejo y la equidad; mía es la prudencia, mía la fortaleza;
Conmigo está el consejo y el ser; yo soy la inteligencia; mía es la fortaleza.
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

por mí reinan los reyes; y decretan los legisladores leyes justas.

a fin de enriquecer a los que me aman y henchir sus tesoros.
Para hacer heredar á mis amigos el ser, y que yo hincha sus tesoros.

El Señor me tuvo consigo al principio de sus obras, desde el principio , antes que crease cosa alguna.
Jehová me poseía en el principio de su camino, ya de antiguo, antes de sus obras.
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

Desde la eternidad tengo yo el principado de todas las cosas, desde antes de los siglos, primero que fuese hecha la tierra.

I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

Todavía no existían los abismos o mares, y yo estaba ya concebida; aún no habían brotado las fuentes de las aguas,
Antes de los abismos fuí engendrada; antes que fuesen las fuentes de las muchas aguas.

Aún no había creado la tierra, ni los ríos, ni los ejes del mundo.
No había aún hecho la tierra, ni las campiñas, ni el principio del polvo del mundo.
While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

cuando circunscribía al mar en sus términos, e imponía ley a las aguas para que no traspasasen sus límites; cuando asentaba los cimientos de la tierra,
Cuando ponía á la mar su estatuto, y á las aguas, que no pasasen su mandamiento; cuando establecía los fundamentos de la tierra;
When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
con él estaba yo disponiendo todas las cosas; y eran mis diarios placeres holgarme continuamente en su presencia,
Con él estaba yo ordenándolo todo; y fuí su delicia todos los días, teniendo solaz delante de él en todo tiempo.
Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,
el holgarme en la creación del universo; siendo todas mis delicias el estar con los hijos de los hombres.
Huélgome en la parte habitable de su tierra; y mis delicias son con los hijos de los hombres.
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

Ahora, pues, ¡oh hijos!, escuchadme: bienaventurados los que siguen mis caminos.

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

Oíd mis documentos, y sed sabios, y no queráis desecharlos.
Atended el consejo, y sed sabios, y no lo menospreciéis.

Bienaventurado el hombre que me escucha, y que vela continuamente a las puertas de mi casa, y está de observación en los umbrales de ella.
Bienaventurado el hombre que me oye, velando á mis puertas cada día, guardando los umbrales de mis entradas.
Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

Quien me hallare hallará la vida, y alcanzará del Señor la salvación.
Porque el que me hallare, hallará la vida, y alcanzará el favor de Jehová.
For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
For whoever finds me finds life, and will obtain favor from the LORD.
Mas quien pecare contra mí, dañará a su propia alma. Todos los que me aborrecen a mí, aman la muerte.

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
