Mató sus víctimas, mezcló su vino, Y puso su mesa.

Envió sus criadas; Sobre lo más alto de la ciudad clamó.

Dice a cualquier simple: Ven acá. A los faltos de cordura prudencia y buen juicio dice:

Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
Vengan, coman mi pan, Y beban del vino que yo he mezclado.
Venid, comed mi pan, y bebed del vino que yo he templado.
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
Dejen las simplezas, y vivan, Y vayan por el camino de la inteligencia.
Dejad las simplezas, y vivid; y andad por el camino de la inteligencia.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
El que corrige al escarnecedor burlador con agravio y tenacidad, se acarrea afrenta; El que reprende al impío irreverente y sin ley, se atrae mancha.
El que corrige al escarnecedor, afrenta se acarrea: el que reprende al impío, se atrae mancha.
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
No reprendas al escarnecedor burlador con agravio y tenacidad, para que no te aborrezca; Corrige al sabio, y te amará.

Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
Da al sabio, y será más sabio; Enseña al justo, y aumentará su saber.

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
