La sabiduría se fabricó una casa o palacio; a este fin labró siete columnas.
LA sabiduría edificó su casa, labró sus siete columnas;
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
Inmoló sus víctimas para el convite; compuso el vino, y preparó la mesa.
Mató sus víctimas, templó su vino, y puso su mesa.
She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
Envió sus criadas a convidar que viniesen al alcázar; y desde las murallas de la ciudad gritaba:
Envió sus criadas; sobre lo más alto de la ciudad clamó:
She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
Quien sea párvulo o sencillo, venga a mí. Y a los que no tienen juicio, les dijo:
Cualquiera simple, venga acá. A los faltos de cordura dijo:
Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
Venid a comer de mi pan y a beber el vino que os tengo preparado.
Venid, comed mi pan, y bebed del vino que yo he templado.
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
Dejad las niñerías; y vivid y caminad por las sendas de la prudencia.
Dejad las simplezas, y vivid; y andad por el camino de la inteligencia.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
El que instruye al mofador o impío, se acarrea ignominia, y el que corrige al desalmado, se adquiere infamia.
El que corrige al escarnecedor, afrenta se acarrea: el que reprende al impío, se atrae mancha.
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
No quieras reprender al mofador, para que no te aborrezca. Corrige al sabio, y te amará.
No reprendas al escarnecedor, porque no te aborrezca; corrige al sabio, y te amará.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
Dad al sabio ocasión de aprender, y crecerá en sabiduría; enseña al justo, y se apresurará a aprender.
Da al sabio, y será más sabio: enseña al justo, y acrecerá su saber.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
El principio de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor; y la ciencia de los santos es la verdadera prudencia.
El temor de Jehová es el principio de la sabiduría; y la ciencia de los santos es inteligencia.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Porque por mí se multiplicarán tus días, y se te añadirán años de vida.
Porque por mí se aumentarán tus días, y años de vida se te añadirán.
For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
Si fueres sabio, para tu provecho lo serás; mas si eres un mofador, tú solo pagarás la pena.
Si fueres sabio, para ti lo serás: mas si fueres escarnecedor, pagarás tú solo.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
Una mujer loca y habladora, y rebosando caricias, y que no sabe nada sino el seducir,
La mujer loca es alborotadora; es simple é ignorante.
A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.
se sentó en una silla a la puerta de su casa, en un lugar alto de la ciudad,
Siéntase en una silla á la puerta de su casa, en lo alto de la ciudad,
For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
para llamar a los que pasan por la calle, a los que van en derechura por su camino, diciéndoles:
Para llamar á los que pasan por el camino, que van por sus caminos derechos.
To call passengers who go right on their ways:
to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,
El que es mozuelo o simple, tuerza hacia mí su paso; y al mentecato le dijo:
Cualquiera simple, dice, venga acá. A los faltos de cordura dijo:
Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

Las aguas hurtadas o deleites prohibidos son más dulces, y el pan tomado a escondidas es más sabroso.
Las aguas hurtadas son dulces, y el pan comido en oculto es suave.
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
Y no sabe el mentecato que allí con ella están los gigantes o demonios; y que sus convidados caen en lo más profundo del infierno.
Y no saben que allí están los muertos; que sus convidados están en los profundos de la sepultura.
But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
