La sabiduría ha construido su casa, ha preparado sus siete pilares.
LA sabiduría edificó su casa, labró sus siete columnas;
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
Ella ha sacrificado a sus animales para obtener su carne; ha mezclado su vino y ha alistado la mesa.
Mató sus víctimas, templó su vino, y puso su mesa.
She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
Ha enviado a sus siervas con invitaciones. Llama desde los lugares altos de la ciudad, diciendo:
Envió sus criadas; sobre lo más alto de la ciudad clamó:
She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
“¡Todos los que necesiten aprender, vengan a mi!” A los insensatos les dice:
Cualquiera simple, venga acá. A los faltos de cordura dijo:
Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
“Vengan, coman mi carne y beban del vino que he mezclado.
Venid, comed mi pan, y bebed del vino que yo he templado.
Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
Dejen de vivir con necedad, y sigan el camino de la sensatez”.
Dejad las simplezas, y vivid; y andad por el camino de la inteligencia.
Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
Si corriges al burlador, recibirás insultos; si corriges al malvado por lo que hace, recibirás abuso.
El que corrige al escarnecedor, afrenta se acarrea: el que reprende al impío, se atrae mancha.
He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
Por lo tanto, no discutas con los burladores, pues solo te odiarán; discute con el sabio y te amará.
No reprendas al escarnecedor, porque no te aborrezca; corrige al sabio, y te amará.
Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
Educa al sabio y se volverá más sabio. Enseña a los que viven en rectitud y aumentarán su conocimiento.
Da al sabio, y será más sabio: enseña al justo, y acrecerá su saber.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
El principio de la sabiduría es honrar a Dios. Y el conocimiento del Santo trae inteligencia.
El temor de Jehová es el principio de la sabiduría; y la ciencia de los santos es inteligencia.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Mediante la sabiduría vivirás muchos años más. Añadirás años a tu vida.
Porque por mí se aumentarán tus días, y años de vida se te añadirán.
For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
Si eres sabio, tú obtendrás los beneficios de la sabiduría, pero si eres un burlador, solo tú sufrirás las consecuencias.
Si fueres sabio, para ti lo serás: mas si fueres escarnecedor, pagarás tú solo.
If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
La estupidez es como una mujer escandalosa e ignorante.
La mujer loca es alborotadora; es simple é ignorante.
A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.
Esa que se sienta en la puerta de su casa, se sienta en los lugares altos de la ciudad,
Siéntase en una silla á la puerta de su casa, en lo alto de la ciudad,
For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
llamando a los que pasan, involucrándose en asuntos ajenos, y diciendo:
Para llamar á los que pasan por el camino, que van por sus caminos derechos.
To call passengers who go right on their ways:
to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,
“¡Los que necesiten aprender, vengan a mi!” A los necios les dice:
Cualquiera simple, dice, venga acá. A los faltos de cordura dijo:
Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
“El agua robada es dulce, y la comida que se come en secreto sabe mejor!”
Las aguas hurtadas son dulces, y el pan comido en oculto es suave.
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
Pero ellos no saben que los Muertos están con ella, que aquellos a quienes ella ha invitado antes están en lo profundo de una tumba.
Y no saben que allí están los muertos; que sus convidados están en los profundos de la sepultura.
But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
