Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Quand le méchant s'enorgueillit, les malheureux sont consumés ; ils sont pris dans les intrigues qu'il a conçues.
Con arrogancia el malo persigue al pobre: serán cogidos en los artificios que han ideado.
The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.
Car le méchant se glorifie de sa convoitise ; le ravisseur maudit, méprise Yahweh.
Por cuanto se alaba el malo del deseo de su alma, y bendice al codicioso, á quien Jehová aborrece.
For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy and condemns the LORD.
Dans son arrogance, le méchant dit : " Il ne punit pas ! " " Il n'y a pas de Dieu " : voilà toutes ses pensées.
El malo, por la altivez de su rostro, no busca á Dios: no hay Dios en todos sus pensamientos.
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
His ways are prosperous at all times. He is arrogant, and your laws are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.
Il dit dans son cœur : " Je ne serai pas ébranlé, je suis pour toujours à l'abri du malheur. "
Dice en su corazón: No seré movido en ningún tiempo, ni jamás me alcanzará el infortunio.
He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
He says in his heart, “I shall not be shaken. For generations I shall have no trouble.”
Sa bouche est pleine de malédiction, de tromperie et de violence ; sous sa langue est la malice et l'iniquité.
Llena está su boca de maldición, y de engaños y fraude: debajo de su lengua, vejación y maldad.
His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

Il se met en embuscade près des hameaux, dans les lieux couverts il assassine l'innocent. Ses yeux épient l'homme sans défense,
Está en las guaridas de las aldeas: en los escondrijos mata al inocente: sus ojos están acechando al pobre.
He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.
il est aux aguets dans le lieu couvert, comme un lion dans son fourré ; il est aux aguets pour surprendre le pauvre, il se saisit du pauvre en le tirant dans son filet.
Acecha en oculto, como el león desde su cama: acecha para arrebatar al pobre: arrebata al pobre trayéndolo á su red.
He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless when he draws him in his net.
Il se courbe, il se baisse, et les malheureux tombent dans ses griffes.
Encógese, agáchase, y caen en sus fuerzas muchos desdichados.
He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.
Il dit dans son cœur : " Dieu a oublié ! Il a couvert sa face, il ne voit jamais rien. "
Dice en su corazón: Dios está olvidado, ha encubierto su rostro; nunca lo verá.
He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
He says in his heart, “God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.”
Lève-toi, Yahweh ; ô Dieu, lève ta main ! N'oublie pas les affligés.
Levántate, oh Jehová Dios, alza tu mano, no te olvides de los pobres.
Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
Arise, LORD! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless.
Pourquoi le méchant méprise-t-il Dieu ? Pourquoi dit-il en son cœur : " Tu ne punis pas ? "
¿Por qué irrita el malo á Dios? En su corazón ha dicho que no lo inquirirás.
Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, “God won’t call me into account”?
Tu as vu pourtant ; car tu regardes la peine et la souffrance, pour prendre en main leur cause. A toi s'abandonne le malheureux, à l'orphelin tu viens en aide.
Tú lo tienes visto: porque tú miras el trabajo, y la vejación, para vengarle por tu mano: á ti se acoge el pobre, tú eres el amparo del huérfano.
Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.
Brise le bras du méchant ; l'impie, — si tu cherches son crime, ne le trouveras-tu pas ?
Quebranta el brazo del malo: del maligno buscarás su maldad, hasta que ninguna halles.
Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

El deseo de los humildes oíste, oh Jehová: tú dispones su corazón, y haces atento tu oído;

pour rendre justice à l'orphelin et à l'opprimé, afin que l'homme, tiré de la terre, cesse d'inspirer l'effroi.
Para juzgar al huérfano y al pobre, á fin de que no vuelva más á hacer violencia el hombre de la tierra.
To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
