1Ein Stufenlied. Zu Jehova rief ich in meiner Bedrängnis, und er erhörte mich.
2Jehova, errette meine Seele von der Lippe der Lüge, von der Zunge des Truges!
3Was soll man dir geben und was dir hinzufügen, du Zunge des Truges?
4Scharfe Pfeile eines Gewaltigen, samt glühenden Kohlen der Ginster.
5Wehe mir, daß ich weile in Mesech, daß ich wohne bei den Zelten Kedars!
6Lange hat meine Seele bei denen gewohnt, die den Frieden hassen.
7Ich will nur Frieden; aber wenn ich rede, so sind sie für Krieg.

3¿Qué te dará, ó qué te aprovechará, oh lengua engañosa?
4Agudas saetas de valiente, con brasas de enebro.
5¡Ay de mí, que peregrino en Mesech, y habito entre las tiendas de Kedar!
6Mucho se detiene mi alma con los que aborrecen la paz.
7Yo soy pacífico: mas ellos, así que hablo, me hacen guerra.

1In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.
2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
3What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
4Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
5Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
6My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
7I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
