1Si no hubiera sido el Señor quien estuvo de nuestro lado (que Israel ahora diga);
2Si no hubiera sido el Señor quien estuvo de nuestro lado, cuando los hombres vinieron contra nosotros;
3Habrían hecho una comida de nosotros mientras vivíamos, en el calor de su ira contra nosotros:
4Hubiéramos estado cubiertos por las aguas; las corrientes habrían recorrido nuestra alma;
5Sí, las aguas del orgullo habrían pasado por nuestra alma.
6Alabado sea el Señor, que no nos ha dejado herir con sus dientes.
7Nuestra alma se ha liberado como un pájaro de la red de los cazadores; la red está rota, y somos libres.
8Nuestra ayuda está en el nombre del Señor, el hacedor del cielo y de la tierra.

1Cántico gradual: de David. A NO haber estado Jehová por nosotros, diga ahora Israel;
2A no haber estado Jehová por nosotros, cuando se levantaron contra nosotros los hombres,
3Vivos nos habrían entonces tragado, cuando se encendió su furor en nosotros.
4Entonces nos habrían inundado las aguas; sobre nuestra alma hubiera pasado el torrente:
5Hubieran entonces pasado sobre nuestra alma las aguas soberbias.
6Bendito Jehová, que no nos dió por presa á sus dientes.
7Nuestra alma escapó cual ave del lazo de los cazadores: quebróse el lazo, y escapamos nosotros.
8Nuestro socorro es en el nombre de Jehová, que hizo el cielo y la tierra.

1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
World English Bible
1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say,
2if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us,
3then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,
4then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul.

6Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.
