si Yahvé no hubiera estado de nuestra parte cuando los hombres nos atacaron,
A no haber estado Jehová por nosotros, cuando se levantaron contra nosotros los hombres,

entonces nos habrían tragado vivos cuando su enojo se encendió contra nosotros;
Vivos nos habrían entonces tragado, cuando se encendió su furor en nosotros.
Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,
entonces las aguas nos habrían inundado, la corriente nos habría arrastrado.
Entonces nos habrían inundado las aguas; sobre nuestra alma hubiera pasado el torrente:

¡Entonces las aguas turbulentas habrían acabado con nuestra vida!
Hubieran entonces pasado sobre nuestra alma las aguas soberbias.

Bendito sea Yahvé, que no dejó que nos despedazaran con sus dientes.
Bendito Jehová, que no nos dió por presa á sus dientes.

Nuestra vida escapó como un pájaro de la trampa del cazador; la trampa se rompió, y nosotros escapamos.
Nuestra alma escapó cual ave del lazo de los cazadores: quebróse el lazo, y escapamos nosotros.
Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Nuestra ayuda está en el nombre de Yahvé, el creador del cielo y de la tierra.
