Salmos 124

1Cantique des degrés. De David. N’eût été l’Éternel, qui a été pour nous, – qu’Israël le dise,
2N’eût été l’Éternel, qui a été pour nous quand les hommes se sont élevés contre nous, –
3Alors ils nous auraient engloutis vivants, quand leur colère s’enflammait contre nous ;
4Alors les eaux nous auraient submergés, un torrent aurait passé sur notre âme ;
5Alors les eaux orgueilleuses auraient passé sur notre âme.
6Béni soit l’Éternel, qui ne nous a pas livrés en proie à leurs dents !
7Notre âme est échappée comme un oiseau du piège des oiseleurs : le piège s’est rompu, et nous sommes échappés.
8Notre secours est dans le nom de l’Éternel, qui a fait les cieux et la terre.

1Cántico gradual: de David. A NO haber estado Jehová por nosotros, diga ahora Israel;
2A no haber estado Jehová por nosotros, cuando se levantaron contra nosotros los hombres,
3Vivos nos habrían entonces tragado, cuando se encendió su furor en nosotros.
4Entonces nos habrían inundado las aguas; sobre nuestra alma hubiera pasado el torrente:
5Hubieran entonces pasado sobre nuestra alma las aguas soberbias.
6Bendito Jehová, que no nos dió por presa á sus dientes.
7Nuestra alma escapó cual ave del lazo de los cazadores: quebróse el lazo, y escapamos nosotros.
8Nuestro socorro es en el nombre de Jehová, que hizo el cielo y la tierra.

1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say,
2if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us,
3then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,
