Llorando nos sentábamos junto a los ríos de Babilonia pensando en Sion.
JUNTO á los ríos de Babilonia, allí nos sentábamos, y aun llorábamos, acordándonos de Sión.

Hemos abandonado nuestras liras, colgadas de las ramas de los sauces.
Sobre los sauces en medio de ella colgamos nuestras arpas.
We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
On the willows in that land, we hung up our harps.
Allí, los que nos tenían cautivos nos exigían que cantáramos. Nuestros verdugos nos pedían un himno alegre, nos decían: «Cántennos uno de esos cantos de Sion».
Y los que allí nos habían llevado cautivos nos pedían que cantásemos, y los que nos habían desolado nos pedían alegría, diciendo:
For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”
Pero ¿cómo cantaremos los himnos del Señor en una tierra extraña?
Cantadnos algunos de los himnos de Sión. ¿Cómo cantaremos canción de Jehová en tierra de extraños?
How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a strange land?

Si llego a olvidarte, oh Jerusalén, ¡que mi mano derecha olvide cómo tocar el arpa!
Si me olvidare de ti, oh Jerusalem, mi diestra sea olvidada.
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill.
Si no me acordara de ti, ni fueras tú mi más grande gozo, que la lengua se me pegue al paladar.
Mi lengua se pegue á mi paladar, si de ti no me acordare; si no ensalzare á Jerusalem como preferente asunto de mi alegría.
If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I don’t remember you, if I don’t prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Señor, no olvides lo que estos edomitas hicieron aquel día en que los ejércitos de Babilonia tomaron Jerusalén. «¡Arrásenla hasta el suelo!», gritaban.
Acuérdate, oh Jehová, de los hijos de Edom en el día de Jerusalem; quienes decían: Arrasadla, arrasadla hasta los cimientos.
Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
Remember, LORD, against the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem, who said, “Raze it! Raze it even to its foundation!”
Oh Babilonia, que serás destruida; dichoso el que te haga pagar por lo que nos has hecho.
Hija de Babilonia destruída, bienaventurado el que te diere el pago de lo que tú nos hiciste.
O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be happy who repays you, as you have done to us.
¡Dichoso el que tome a tus niños y los estrelle contra las rocas!
Bienaventurado el que tomará y estrellará tus niños contra las piedras.
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Happy shall he be, who takes and dashes your little ones against the rock.
