Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

(0140-3) Denn sie haben Böses im Sinn und erregen täglich Streit.
Los cuales maquinan males en el corazón, cada día urden contiendas.
Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

(0140-4) Sie spitzen ihre Zunge wie eine Schlange, Otterngift ist unter ihren Lippen. (Pause.)

Guárdame, oh Jehová, de manos del impío, presérvame del hombre injurioso; que han pensado de trastornar mis pasos.
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

(0140-6) Die Stolzen legen mir Fallen und Schlingen, sie spannen ein Netz aus neben dem Weg; sie haben mir Fallstricke gelegt. (Pause.)

(0140-8) O HERR, mein Gott, du bist meine mächtige Hilfe; du schützest mein Haupt am Tage der Schlacht!
Jehová Señor, fortaleza de mi salud, tú pusiste á cubierto mi cabeza el día de las armas.
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

(0140-10) Erheben sie das Haupt rings um mich her, so komme das Unheil ihrer Lippen über sie selbst!
En cuanto á los que por todas partes me rodean, la maldad de sus propios labios cubrirá su cabeza.

(0140-11) Feuerglut falle auf sie! Ins Feuer stürze er sie, in Wassertiefen, daß sie nicht mehr aufstehn!
Caerán sobre ellos brasas; Dios los hará caer en el fuego, en profundos hoyos de donde no salgan.

(0140-12) Der Verleumder wird nicht bestehen im Lande; den frechen Menschen wird das Unglück verfolgen bis zu seinem Untergang!
El hombre deslenguado no será firme en la tierra: el mal cazará al hombre injusto para derribarle.
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

(0140-13) Ich weiß, daß der HERR des Elenden Sache führen und dem Armen Recht schaffen wird.

(0140-14) Ja, die Gerechten werden deinen Namen preisen und die Redlichen vor deinem Angesicht wohnen!
Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre; los rectos morarán en tu presencia.
Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
