1Au chef des chantres. Psaume de David.
2Les cieux racontent la gloire de Dieu, Et l’étendue manifeste l’œuvre de ses mains.
3Le jour en instruit un autre jour, La nuit en donne connaissance à une autre nuit.
4Ce n’est pas un langage, ce ne sont pas des paroles Dont le son ne soit point entendu:
5Leur retentissement parcourt toute la terre, Leurs accents vont aux extrémités du monde, Où il a dressé une tente pour le soleil.
6Et le soleil, semblable à un époux qui sort de sa chambre, S’élance dans la carrière avec la joie d’un héros;
7Il se lève à une extrémité des cieux, Et achève sa course à l’autre extrémité: Rien ne se dérobe à sa chaleur.
8La loi de l’Éternel est parfaite, elle restaure l’âme; Le témoignage de l’Éternel est véritable, il rend sage l’ignorant.
9Les ordonnances de l’Éternel sont droites, elles réjouissent le cœur; Les commandements de l’Éternel sont purs, ils éclairent les yeux.
10La crainte de l’Éternel est pure, elle subsiste à toujours; Les jugements de l’Éternel sont vrais, ils sont tous justes.
11Ils sont plus précieux que l’or, que beaucoup d’or fin; Ils sont plus doux que le miel, que celui qui coule des rayons.
12Ton serviteur aussi en reçoit instruction; Pour qui les observe la récompense est grande.
13Qui connaît ses égarements? Pardonne-moi ceux que j’ignore.
14Préserve aussi ton serviteur des orgueilleux; Qu’ils ne dominent point sur moi! Alors je serai intègre, innocent de grands péchés.
15Reçois favorablement les paroles de ma bouche Et les sentiments de mon cœur, O Éternel, mon rocher et mon libérateur!

2El un día emite palabra al otro día, y la una noche á la otra noche declara sabiduría.
3No hay dicho, ni palabras, ni es oída su voz.
4Por toda la tierra salió su hilo, y al cabo del mundo sus palabras. En ellos puso tabernáculo para el sol.
5Y él, como un novio que sale de su tálamo, alégrase cual gigante para correr el camino.
6Del un cabo de los cielos es su salida, y su giro hasta la extremidad de ellos: y no hay quien se esconda de su calor.
7La ley de Jehová es perfecta, que vuelve el alma: el testimonio de Jehová, fiel, que hace sabio al pequeño.
8Los mandamientos de Jehová son rectos, que alegran el corazón: el precepto de Jehová, puro, que alumbra los ojos.
9El temor de Jehová, limpio, que permanece para siempre; los juicios de Jehová son verdad, todos justos.
10Deseables son más que el oro, y más que mucho oro afinado; y dulces más que miel, y que la que destila del panal.
11Tu siervo es además amonestado con ellos: en guardarlos hay grande galardón.
12Los errores, ¿quién los entenderá? Líbrame de los que me son ocultos.
13Detén asimismo á tu siervo de las soberbias; que no se enseñoreen de mí: entonces seré íntegro, y estaré limpio de gran rebelión.
14Sean gratos los dichos de mi boca y la meditación de mi corazón delante de ti, oh Jehová, roca mía, y redentor mío.

1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

2Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge.
3There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard.
4Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.
6His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends. There is nothing hidden from its heat.
7The LORD’s law is perfect, restoring the soul. The LORD’s covenant is sure, making wise the simple.
8The LORD’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. The LORD’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever. The LORD’s ordinances are true, and righteous altogether.
10They are more to be desired than gold, yes, than much fine gold, sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb.
11Moreover your servant is warned by them. In keeping them there is great reward.
12Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.
13Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins. Let them not have dominion over me. Then I will be upright. I will be blameless and innocent of great transgression.
14Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, LORD, my rock, and my redeemer.
