1PERCHÈ tumultuano le genti, E mormorano i popoli cose vane?
2I re della terra si ritrovano, Ed i principi consigliano insieme, Contro al Signore, e contro al suo Unto;
3Dicendo: Rompiamo i lor legami, E gettiam via da noi le lor funi.
4Colui che siede ne' cieline riderà; Il Signore si befferà di loro.
5Allora parlerà loro nella sua ira, E li renderà smarriti nel suo cruccio acceso;
6E dirà: Pur nondimeno ho io consacrato il mio Re Sopra Sion, monte della mia santità.
7Io spiegherò il decreto; Il Signore mi ha detto: Tu sei il mio figliuolo; Oggi io t'ho generato.
8Chiedimi, ed io ti darò per eredità le genti, Ed i confini della terra per tua possessione.
9Tu le fiaccherai con una verga di ferro; Tu le triterai come un testo di vasellaio.
10Ora dunque, o re, siate savi; Giudici della terra, ricevete correzione.
11Servite al Signore con timore, E gioite con tremore.
12Baciate il figliuolo, che talora egli non si adiri, E che voi non periate nella vostra via, Quando l'ira sua si sarà pure un poco accesa. Beati tutti coloro che si confidano in lui.

1¿POR qué se amotinan las gentes, y los pueblos piensan vanidad?
2Estarán los reyes de la tierra, y príncipes consultarán unidos contra Jehová, y contra su ungido, diciendo:
3Rompamos sus coyundas, y echemos de nosotros sus cuerdas.
4El que mora en los cielos se reirá; el Señor se burlará de ellos.
5Entonces hablará á ellos en su furor, y turbarálos con su ira.
6Yo empero he puesto mi rey sobre Sión, monte de mi santidad.
7Yo publicaré el decreto: Jehová me ha dicho: Mi hijo eres tú; yo te engendré hoy.
8Pídeme, y te daré por heredad las gentes, y por posesión tuya los términos de la tierra.
9Quebrantarlos has con vara de hierro: como vaso de alfarero los desmenuzarás.
10Y ahora, reyes, entended: admitid corrección, jueces de la tierra.
11Servid á Jehová con temor, y alegraos con temblor.
12Besad al Hijo, porque no se enoje, y perezcáis en el camino, cuando se encendiere un poco su furor. Bienaventurados todos los que en él confían.

1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
10Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

1Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
2The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed, saying,
3“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”
4He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.
5Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:
6“Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”
7I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.
8Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
9You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
10Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
