¿POR qué se amotinan las gentes, y los pueblos piensan vanidad?
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?
Los reyes de la tierra se preparan para la batalla; los gobernantes se asocian contra el Señor y contra su ungido.
Estarán los reyes de la tierra, y príncipes consultarán unidos contra Jehová, y contra su ungido, diciendo:
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,

«Vamos, rompamos sus cadenas», dicen, «liberémonos de la esclavitud de Dios».
Rompamos sus coyundas, y echemos de nosotros sus cuerdas.
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”
¡Pero el Señor de los cielos se ríe! Se burla de ellos.
El que mora en los cielos se reirá; el Señor se burlará de ellos.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.
Y luego, con ardiente furia los reprende y los llena de espanto.
Entonces hablará á ellos en su furor, y turbarálos con su ira.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:
El Señor declara: «Este es el rey que he elegido. Lo he puesto en el trono de Jerusalén, mi santo monte».
Yo empero he puesto mi rey sobre Sión, monte de mi santidad.
Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
“Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”
Su elegido responde: «Yo revelaré los eternos propósitos de Dios, pues el Señor me ha dicho: “Tú eres mi hijo. Hoy mismo te he concebido.
Yo publicaré el decreto: Jehová me ha dicho: Mi hijo eres tú; yo te engendré hoy.
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.
Pídeme, y te daré como herencia todas las naciones del mundo. ¡Tuyos serán los confines de la tierra!
Pídeme, y te daré por heredad las gentes, y por posesión tuya los términos de la tierra.
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
¡Gobiérnalas con vara de hierro; rómpelas como vasijas de barro!”».
Quebrantarlos has con vara de hierro: como vaso de alfarero los desmenuzarás.

Ustedes, los reyes, obren sabiamente.
Y ahora, reyes, entended: admitid corrección, jueces de la tierra.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

Sirvan al Señor con temor reverente; con temblor ríndale alabanza.
Servid á Jehová con temor, y alegraos con temblor.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Bésenle los pies, antes que se encienda su ira y perezcan en el camino, pues su ira se inflama de repente. ¡Dichosos los que en él buscan el refugio!
Besad al Hijo, porque no se enoje, y perezcáis en el camino, cuando se encendiere un poco su furor. Bienaventurados todos los que en él confían.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
