1Dije: Daré atención a mis caminos, para que mi lengua no haga nada malo; Mantendré mi boca bajo control, mientras que el pecador está delante de mí.
2No hice ningún sonido, no dije palabra, ni siquiera de bien; pero se agravó mi dolor.
3Mi corazón ardía en mi pecho; mientras estaba sumido en mis pensamientos, el fuego estaba encendido; entonces dije con mi lengua,
4Señor, concédeme el conocimiento de mi fin y de la medida de mis días, para que pueda ver cuán débil soy.
5Has hecho que mis días no sean más que una medida de mano; y mis años no son nada en tus ojos; de verdad, cada hombre es solo un respiro. Selah.
6En verdad, cada hombre es como una sombra; en vano se afana: hace una gran reserva de riqueza, y no tiene conocimiento de quién la obtendrá.
7Y ahora, Señor, ¿qué estoy esperando? mi esperanza está en ti.
8Hazme libre de todos mis pecados; no dejes que me avergüence el hombre necio.
9Estaba callado y mantuve la boca cerrada; porque tu hiciste.
10No permitas que tu mano sea dura conmigo; Estoy consumido por los golpes de tu mano.
11Reprendes y disciplinas él pecado del hombre, reduces a polvo lo más estimado por el; Verdaderamente, cada hombre no es más que un respiro. Selah.
12Oye mi oración en tus oídos, oh Señor, y presta atención a mi clamor, responde a mi llanto; porque mi tiempo aquí es corto para ti, como un ave de paso y dentro de poco me iré, como todos mis padres.
13Deja de mirarme, para que yo sea consolado, antes que me vaya de aquí, y me convierta en nada.

1Al Músico principal, á Jeduthún: Salmo de David. YO DIJE: Atenderé á mis caminos, para no pecar con mi lengua: guardaré mi boca con freno, en tanto que el impío fuere contra mí.
2Enmudecí con silencio, calléme aun respecto de lo bueno: y excitóse mi dolor.
3Enardecióse mi corazón dentro de mí; encendióse fuego en mi meditación, y así proferí con mi lengua:
4Hazme saber, Jehová, mi fin, y cuánta sea la medida de mis días; sepa yo cuánto tengo de ser del mundo.
5He aquí diste á mis días término corto, y mi edad es como nada delante de ti: ciertamente es completa vanidad todo hombre que vive. (Selah.)
6Ciertamente en tinieblas anda el hombre; ciertamente en vano se inquieta: junta, y no sabe quién lo allegará.
7Y ahora, Señor, ¿qué esperaré? Mi esperanza en ti está.
8Líbrame de todas mis rebeliones; no me pongas por escarnio del insensato.
9Enmudecí, no abrí mi boca; porque tú lo hiciste.
10Quita de sobre mí tu plaga; de la guerra de tu mano soy consumido.
11Con castigos sobre el pecado corriges al hombre, y haces consumirse como de polilla su grandeza: ciertamente vanidad es todo hombre. (Selah.)
12Oye mi oración, oh Jehová, y escucha mi clamor: no calles á mis lágrimas; porque peregrino soy para contigo, y advenedizo, como todos mis padres.
13Déjame, y tomaré fuerzas, antes que vaya y perezca.

1I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
2I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.
3My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
4LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
5Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
6Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.
7And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
8Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.
10Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
11When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.
12Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
13O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

1I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”
2I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred.
3My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned. I spoke with my tongue:
4“LORD, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.
5Behold, you have made my days hand widths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath.” Selah.
6“Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn’t know who shall gather.
7Now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.
8Deliver me from all my transgressions. Don’t make me the reproach of the foolish.
9I was mute. I didn’t open my mouth, because you did it.
10Remove your scourge away from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
11When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity, you consume his wealth like a moth. Surely every man is but a breath.” Selah.
12“Hear my prayer, LORD, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.
13Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go away and exist no more.”
