Al Músico principal, á Jeduthún: Salmo de David. YO DIJE: Atenderé á mis caminos, para no pecar con mi lengua: guardaré mi boca con freno, en tanto que el impío fuere contra mí.
I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”
Ich dachte: »Achten will ich auf meine Wege,</title> daß ich nicht sünd’ge mit meiner Zunge; ich will meinem Mund einen Zaum anlegen, solange noch der Frevler vor mir steht.«
Enmudecí con silencio, calléme aun respecto de lo bueno: y excitóse mi dolor.
I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

So ward ich denn stumm, ganz stumm, mit Gewalt schweigsam; doch es wühlte mein Schmerz noch wilder.
Enardecióse mi corazón dentro de mí; encendióse fuego en mi meditación, y así proferí con mi lengua:
My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,

Das Herz ward mir heiß in der Brust, ob meinem Grübeln brannte ein Feuer in mir; da ließ ich meiner Zunge freien Lauf:
Hazme saber, Jehová, mi fin, y cuánta sea la medida de mis días; sepa yo cuánto tengo de ser del mundo.
LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
“LORD, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.
»HERR, laß mein Ende mich wissen und welches das Maß meiner Tage ist! Laß mich erkennen, wie vergänglich ich bin!
He aquí diste á mis días término corto, y mi edad es como nada delante de ti: ciertamente es completa vanidad todo hombre que vive. (Selah.)
Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.
Behold, you have made my days hand widths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath.” Selah.
Ach, spannenlang hast du mir die Tage gemacht, und meines Lebens Dauer ist wie nichts vor dir: ja, nur als ein Hauch steht jeglicher Mensch da!«SELA.
Ciertamente en tinieblas anda el hombre; ciertamente en vano se inquieta: junta, y no sabe quién lo allegará.
Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

Fürwahr nur als Schattenbild wandelt der Mensch einher, nur um ein Nichts wird so viel Lärm gemacht; man häuft auf und weiß nicht, wer es einheimst.
Y ahora, Señor, ¿qué esperaré? Mi esperanza en ti está.
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.

Und nun, o Allherr, wes soll ich harren? Meine Hoffnung geht auf dich (allein).
Líbrame de todas mis rebeliones; no me pongas por escarnio del insensato.

Errette mich von allen meinen Sünden, zum Spott der Toren laß mich nicht werden!
Enmudecí, no abrí mi boca; porque tú lo hiciste.
I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

Ich schweige, tu meinen Mund nicht auf, denn du hast’s so gefügt.
Quita de sobre mí tu plaga; de la guerra de tu mano soy consumido.
Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
Remove your scourge away from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.
Nimm deine Plage weg von mir: unter dem Druck deiner Hand erlieg’ ich.
Con castigos sobre el pecado corriges al hombre, y haces consumirse como de polilla su grandeza: ciertamente vanidad es todo hombre. (Selah.)
When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

Züchtigst du einen Menschen mit Strafen um der Sünde willen, so läßt du seine Schönheit vergehn wie die Motte: ach, nur ein Hauch ist jeglicher Mensch!SELA.
Oye mi oración, oh Jehová, y escucha mi clamor: no calles á mis lágrimas; porque peregrino soy para contigo, y advenedizo, como todos mis padres.
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

Höre, o HERR, mein Gebet und vernimm mein Schreien, bleib’ nicht stumm bei meinen Tränen! Denn ein Gast (nur) bin ich bei dir, ein Beisaß wie all meine Väter.
Déjame, y tomaré fuerzas, antes que vaya y perezca.
O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.

Blick weg von mir, daß mein Antlitz sich wieder erheitert, bevor ich dahinfahre und nicht mehr bin!
