To the chief musician, a psalm of David.(40:2) I had waited patiently for the Lord, when he inclined himself unto me, and heard my cry.
Al Músico principal: Salmo de David. RESIGNADAMENTE esperé á Jehová, é inclinóse á mí, y oyó mi clamor.
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

(40:3) And he brought me up out of the noiseful deep, out of the miry clay, and he set up my feet upon a rock, making firm my steps.
E hízome sacar de un lago de miseria, del lodo cenagoso; y puso mis pies sobre peña, y enderezó mis pasos.
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

(40:4) And he placed in my mouth a new song, a praise unto our God: many will see it, and fear; and they will trust in the Lord.
Puso luego en mi boca canción nueva, alabanza á nuestro Dios. Verán esto muchos, y temerán, y esperarán en Jehová.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
(40:5) Happy is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and turneth not unto the proud, nor such as stray aside unto lies.
Bienaventurado el hombre que puso á Jehová por su confianza, y no mira á los soberbios, ni á los que declinan á la mentira.
Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, and doesn’t respect the proud, nor such as turn away to lies.
(40:6) Many things hast thou done, O Lord my God; thy wonderful deeds and thy thoughts toward usthere is none to be compared unto theewill I tell and speak of, though they are too numerous to be counted.
Aumentado has tú, oh Jehová Dios mío, tus maravillas; y tus pensamientos para con nosotros, no te los podremos contar: si yo anunciare y hablare de ellos, no pueden ser enarrados.
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
Many, LORD, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us. They can’t be declared back to you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted.
(40:7) Sacrifice and meatoffering thou desirest notears hast thou hollowed out unto meburntoffering and sinoffering thou demandest not.
Sacrificio y presente no te agrada; has abierto mis oídos; holocausto y expiación no has demandado.
Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.
(40:8) Then said I, Lo, I come: in the roll of the book it is written down for me;
Entonces dije: He aquí, vengo; en el envoltorio del libro está escrito de mí:
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
Then I said, “Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll.
(40:9) To fulfill thy will, O my God, do I desire; and thy law is within my heart.
El hacer tu voluntad, Dios mío, hame agradado; y tu ley está en medio de mis entrañas.
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart.”
(40:10) I announce thy righteousness in the great assembly: lo, I will not refrain my lips, O Lord, thou well knowest it.
Anunciado he justicia en grande congregación: he aquí no detuve mis labios, Jehová, tú lo sabes.
I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know.
(40:11) Thy righteousness have I never hidden within my heart; thy faithfulness and thy salvation have I spoken of openly: I have not concealed thy kindness and thy truth before the great assembly.
No encubrí tu justicia dentro de mi corazón: tu verdad y tu salvación he dicho: no oculté tu misericordia y tu verdad en grande concurso.
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.
(40:12) Do thou, O Lord, not withhold thy mercies from me: let thy kindness and thy truth continually watch over me.
Tú, Jehová, no apartes de mí tus misericordias: tu misericordia y tu verdad me guarden siempre.
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
Don’t withhold your tender mercies from me, LORD. Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.
(40:13) For evils without number have compassed me about; my iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see: they are more numerous than the hairs of my head; and my courage hath forsaken me.
Porque me han cercado males hasta no haber cuento: hanme comprendido mis maldades, y no puedo levantar la vista: hanse aumentado más que los cabellos de mi cabeza, y mi corazón me falta.
For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
For innumerable evils have surrounded me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head. My heart has failed me.
(40:14) Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me; O Lord, hasten to my help.
Quieras, oh Jehová, librarme; Jehová, apresúrate á socorrerme.
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.
Be pleased, LORD, to deliver me. Hurry to help me, LORD.
(40:15) May those be made ashamed and put to the blush together that seek after my soul to take her away: let them be driven backward and be confounded, that wish for my mishap.
Sean avergonzados y confusos á una los que buscan mi vida para cortarla: vuelvan atrás y avergüéncense los que mi mal desean.
Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
Let them be disappointed and confounded together who seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.
(40:16) May they be astonished in consequence of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha!
Sean asolados en pago de su afrenta los que me dicen: ¡Ea, ea!
Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
Let them be desolate by reason of their shame that tell me, “Aha! Aha!”
(40:17)But may all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee: may they say continually, The Lord be magnified,those that love thy salvation.
Gócense y alégrense en ti todos los que te buscan; y digan siempre los que aman tu salud: Jehová sea ensalzado.
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let such as love your salvation say continually, “Let the LORD be exalted!”
(40:18) But though I be poor and needy, the Lord will think of me: my help and my deliverer art thou: O my God, delay not.
Aunque afligido yo y necesitado, Jehová pensará de mí: mi ayuda y mi libertador eres tú; Dios mío, no te tardes.
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
But I am poor and needy. May the Lord think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Don’t delay, my God.
