We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.

De ta main, tu chassas des nations, et eux, tu les as plantés ; Tu détruisis des peuples pour leur faire place,
Tú con tu mano echaste las gentes, y los plantaste á ellos; afligiste los pueblos, y los arrojaste.
How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
Car ce n'est pas avec leur épée qu'ils se sont emparés du pays ; Leur bras ne les a point sauvés ; Non, c'est ta droite, c'est ton bras, c'est la lumière de ta face, Parce que tu les aimais.
Porque no se apoderaron de la tierra por su espada, ni su brazo los libró; sino tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro, porque te complaciste en ellos.
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

Par toi nous renverserons nos ennemis, Avec ton nom nous écraserons ceux qui s'élèvent contre nous.
Por medio de ti sacudiremos á nuestros enemigos: en tu nombre atropellaremos á nuestros adversarios.
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.
Car ce n'est point en mon arc que je me confie, Ce n'est point mon épée qui me sauvera ;
Porque no confiaré en mi arco, ni mi espada me salvará.

Mais c'est toi qui nous sauves de nos ennemis, Et qui couvres de confusion ceux qui nous haïssent.
Pues tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos, y has avergonzado á los que nos aborrecían.
But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.

Cependant tu nous as repoussés, tu nous as couverts de honte, Tu as cessé de sortir avec nos armées,
Empero nos has desechado, y nos has hecho avergonzar; y no sales en nuestros ejércitos.
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.

Tu nous as fait reculer devant l'ennemi, Et ceux qui nous haïssent emportent leur butin.
Nos hiciste retroceder del enemigo, y saqueáronnos para sí los que nos aborrecían.
Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

Tu nous a livrés comme des brebis à dévorer, Et parmi les nations tu nous as dispersés ;
Pusístenos como á ovejas para comida, y esparcístenos entre las gentes.
Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
Tu vends ton peuple pour rien, Tu le mets à vil prix.
Has vendido tu pueblo de balde, y no pujaste en sus precios.
Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
Tu fais de nous un proverbe pour nos voisins, La risée et le jouet de nos alentours ;
Pusístenos por vergüenza á nuestros vecinos, por escarnio y por burla á los que nos rodean.
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
Tu fais de nous la fable des nations ; A notre nom, les peuples hochent la tête.
Pusístenos por proverbio entre las gentes, por movimiento de cabeza en los pueblos.
Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
Mon opprobre est toujours devant moi, Et la confusion me couvre le visage,
Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí, y cúbreme la confusión de mi rostro,
My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
A la voix de celui qui m'insulte et m'outrage, A la vue de l'ennemi et du vindicatif.
Por la voz del que me vitupera y deshonra, por razón del enemigo y del que se venga.
For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.

Tout cela nous arrive sans que nous t'ayons oublié, Sans que nous ayons violé ton alliance.

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

Notre cœur ne s'est point détourné, Nos pas ne se sont point écartés de ton sentier,
No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón, ni tampoco se han apartado nuestros pasos de tus caminos.

Car notre âme est abattue dans la poussière, Notre corps est attaché à la terre.
Porque nuestra alma está agobiada hasta el polvo: nuestro vientre está pegado con la tierra.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

Lève-toi ! Viens-nous en aide ! Délivre nous à cause de ta bonté !
Levántate para ayudarnos, y redímenos por tu misericordia.
