Com a sua própria mão o Senhor arrancou desta terra os povos pagãos que aqui viviam, dando lugar ao nosso povo. Israel se tornou o dono de toda a terra, e o Senhor os fez prosperar.
Tú con tu mano echaste las gentes, y los plantaste á ellos; afligiste los pueblos, y los arrojaste.
How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
Não foi por sua própria força, nem com suas armas. Eles venceram os inimigos e conquistaram a terra pela mão direita do Senhor, pelo seu forte braço e iluminados pela luz do seu rosto. Conseguiram isso por causa do seu amor por eles.
Porque no se apoderaron de la tierra por su espada, ni su brazo los libró; sino tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro, porque te complaciste en ellos.
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

Ó Deus, o Senhor é o meu rei! O Senhor ordena e confirma a vitória de Israel, o seu povo.
Tú, oh Dios, eres mi rey: manda saludes á Jacob.
Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
God, you are my King. Command victories for Jacob!
Pois somente com a sua ajuda podemos vencer os nossos inimigos; pelo seu nome pisamos naqueles que se levantam contra nós.
Por medio de ti sacudiremos á nuestros enemigos: en tu nombre atropellaremos á nuestros adversarios.
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.
Não confio em meu arco e na minha espada para me salvar,
Porque no confiaré en mi arco, ni mi espada me salvará.
For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

mas no Senhor que vence os nossos inimigos e cobre de vergonha os que nos odeiam.
Pues tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos, y has avergonzado á los que nos aborrecían.
But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
Deus é o motivo de nos gloriarmos a cada instante; louvaremos o seu nome para sempre.
En Dios nos gloriaremos todo tiempo, y para siempre loaremos tu nombre. (Selah.)
In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.

No entanto, o Senhor nos rejeitou e por isso passamos vergonha diante das nações. O Senhor já não sai às batalhas com os nossos exércitos,
Empero nos has desechado, y nos has hecho avergonzar; y no sales en nuestros ejércitos.
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
e por isso somos obrigados a fugir do inimigo; nossos adversários nos odeiam e roubam as nossas riquezas.
Nos hiciste retroceder del enemigo, y saqueáronnos para sí los que nos aborrecían.
Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.
O Senhor entregou os israelitas à morte, como ovelhas num matadouro; nosso povo foi espalhado entre as nações.
Pusístenos como á ovejas para comida, y esparcístenos entre las gentes.
Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
O Senhor nos vendeu a troco de nada, não lucrando com o seu preço.
Has vendido tu pueblo de balde, y no pujaste en sus precios.
Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
As nações vizinhas zombam e riem de nós por causa do que aconteceu. Somos motivo de riso e menosprezo daqueles que nos rodeiam.
Pusístenos por vergüenza á nuestros vecinos, por escarnio y por burla á los que nos rodean.
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
O Senhor fez de nós motivo de zombaria entre as nações; os povos meneiam a cabeça quando nos veem.
Pusístenos por proverbio entre las gentes, por movimiento de cabeza en los pueblos.
Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
Onde quer que eu vá, sofro o mesmo vexame; o meu rosto está coberto de vergonha
Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí, y cúbreme la confusión de mi rostro,
My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
por causa daqueles que me afrontam e blasfemam, por causa dos meus inimigos que desejam vingança.
Por la voz del que me vitupera y deshonra, por razón del enemigo y del que se venga.
For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
at the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
Senhor, por que tudo isso aconteceu? Nós não nos esquecemos do Senhor, nem deixamos de cumprir a sua aliança.
Todo esto nos ha venido, y no nos hemos olvidado de ti; y no hemos faltado á tu pacto.
All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
All this has come on us, yet we haven’t forgotten you. We haven’t been false to your covenant.
Nossos corações não abandonaram o Senhor; nossos pés não se desviaram do seu caminho.
No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón, ni tampoco se han apartado nuestros pasos de tus caminos.
Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

Então, por que razão o Senhor nos castiga nesta terra seca e sem vida? Por que o Senhor nos cobriu de densas trevas?
Cuando nos quebrantaste en el lugar de los dragones, y nos cubriste con sombra de muerte,
Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

Se tivéssemos esquecido o nome do nosso Deus e tivéssemos estendido as nossas mãos em oração a deuses estrangeiros,
Si nos hubiésemos olvidado del nombre de nuestro Dios, ó alzado nuestras manos á dios ajeno,
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god,
Deus com certeza saberia, pois ele conhece os segredos de cada coração!
¿No demandaría Dios esto? porque él conoce los secretos del corazón.
Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

Mas o fato é que por sermos fiéis ao Senhor estamos sofrendo perigo de morte a todo instante; somos como ovelhas destinadas ao matadouro.
Empero por tu causa nos matan cada día; somos tenidos como ovejas para el matadero.
Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
Por que esconde de nós o seu rosto e esquece a nossa miséria e desespero?
¿Por qué escondes tu rostro, y te olvidas de nuestra aflicción, y de la opresión nuestra?
Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
Já fomos tão humilhados que andamos com o rosto no chão, arrastando o corpo no pó.
Porque nuestra alma está agobiada hasta el polvo: nuestro vientre está pegado con la tierra.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
Levante-se, Senhor! Venha socorrer o seu povo! Salve-nos por causa do seu amor fiel e constante.
Levántate para ayudarnos, y redímenos por tu misericordia.
Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.
