Al Músico principal: de los hijos de Coré: Masquil. OH Dios, con nuestros oídos hemos oído, nuestros padres nos han contado, la obra que hiciste en sus días, en los tiempos antiguos.
We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
(044-3) Du hast mit deiner Hand die Heiden vertrieben, sie aber gepflanzt; du hast Völker zerschmettert, sie aber ausgebreitet.
Tú con tu mano echaste las gentes, y los plantaste á ellos; afligiste los pueblos, y los arrojaste.
How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
(044-4) Denn nicht mit ihrem Schwert haben sie das Land gewonnen; und ihr Arm hat ihnen nicht geholfen, sondern deine rechte Hand und dein Arm und das Licht deines Angesichts; denn du hattest Wohlgefallen an ihnen.
Porque no se apoderaron de la tierra por su espada, ni su brazo los libró; sino tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro, porque te complaciste en ellos.
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.
(044-5) Du bist derselbe, mein König, o Gott; verordne Jakobs Heil!
Tú, oh Dios, eres mi rey: manda saludes á Jacob.
Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
God, you are my King. Command victories for Jacob!
(044-6) Durch dich wollen wir unsre Feinde niederstoßen; in deinem Namen wollen wir unsre Widersacher zertreten.
Por medio de ti sacudiremos á nuestros enemigos: en tu nombre atropellaremos á nuestros adversarios.
Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.
(044-7) Denn ich verlasse mich nicht auf meinen Bogen, und mein Schwert kann mir nicht helfen;
Porque no confiaré en mi arco, ni mi espada me salvará.
For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
For I will not trust in my bow, neither will my sword save me.
(044-8) sondern du hast uns geholfen vor unsern Feinden und hast zuschanden gemacht, die uns hassen.
Pues tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos, y has avergonzado á los que nos aborrecían.
But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
(044-9) Gottes rühmen wir uns alle Tage, und deinen Namen loben wir ewig. (Pause.)
En Dios nos gloriaremos todo tiempo, y para siempre loaremos tu nombre. (Selah.)
In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
In God we have made our boast all day long. We will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.
(044-10) Und doch hast du uns verworfen und zuschanden werden lassen und bist nicht ausgezogen mit unsern Heerscharen.
Empero nos has desechado, y nos has hecho avergonzar; y no sales en nuestros ejércitos.
But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
(044-11) Du ließest uns zurückweichen vor dem Feind; und die uns hassen, haben sich Beute gemacht.
Nos hiciste retroceder del enemigo, y saqueáronnos para sí los que nos aborrecían.
Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.
(044-12) Du gibst uns hin wie Schafe zum Fraße und zerstreust uns unter die Heiden.
Pusístenos como á ovejas para comida, y esparcístenos entre las gentes.
Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
(044-13) Du verkaufst dein Volk um ein Spottgeld und verlangst nicht viel dafür!
Has vendido tu pueblo de balde, y no pujaste en sus precios.
Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
(044-14) Du setzest uns der Beschimpfung unserer Nachbarn aus, dem Hohn und Spott derer, die uns umgeben.
Pusístenos por vergüenza á nuestros vecinos, por escarnio y por burla á los que nos rodean.
Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
(044-15) Du machst uns zum Sprichwort unter den Heiden, daß die Völker den Kopf über uns schütteln.
Pusístenos por proverbio entre las gentes, por movimiento de cabeza en los pueblos.
Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
(044-16) Alle Tage ist meine Schmach vor mir, und Scham bedeckt mein Angesicht
Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí, y cúbreme la confusión de mi rostro,
My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
(044-17) wegen der Stimme des Spötters und Lästerers, wegen des Feindes, des Rachgierigen.
Por la voz del que me vitupera y deshonra, por razón del enemigo y del que se venga.
For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
at the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
(044-18) Dieses alles ist über uns gekommen; und doch haben wir deiner nicht vergessen, noch deinen Bund gebrochen.
Todo esto nos ha venido, y no nos hemos olvidado de ti; y no hemos faltado á tu pacto.
All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
All this has come on us, yet we haven’t forgotten you. We haven’t been false to your covenant.
(044-19) Unser Herz hat sich nicht zurückgewandt, noch sind unsre Schritte abgewichen von deinem Pfad,
No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón, ni tampoco se han apartado nuestros pasos de tus caminos.
Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,
(044-20) daß du uns zermalmtest am Orte der Schakale und uns mit Todesschatten bedecktest!
Cuando nos quebrantaste en el lugar de los dragones, y nos cubriste con sombra de muerte,
Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
(044-21) Wenn wir des Namens unsres Gottes vergessen und unsre Hände zu einem fremden Gott ausgestreckt hätten,
Si nos hubiésemos olvidado del nombre de nuestro Dios, ó alzado nuestras manos á dios ajeno,
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god,
(044-22) würde Gott das nicht erforschen? Er kennt ja die Geheimnisse des Herzens.
¿No demandaría Dios esto? porque él conoce los secretos del corazón.
Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

(044-23) So aber werden wir um deinetwillen alle Tage erwürgt und sind geachtet wie Schlachtschafe.
Empero por tu causa nos matan cada día; somos tenidos como ovejas para el matadero.
Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
(044-24) Herr, erhebe dich! Warum schläfst du? Wache auf und verstoße uns nicht für immer!
Despierta; ¿por qué duermes, Señor? Despierta, no te alejes para siempre.
Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
(044-25) Warum verbirgst du dein Angesicht und vergissest unsres Elendes und unsrer Bedrängnis?
¿Por qué escondes tu rostro, y te olvidas de nuestra aflicción, y de la opresión nuestra?
Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
(044-26) Denn unsre Seele ist bis zum Staub gebeugt, und unser Leib klebt am Erdboden.
Porque nuestra alma está agobiada hasta el polvo: nuestro vientre está pegado con la tierra.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
(044-27) Mache dich auf, uns zu helfen, und erlöse uns um deiner Gnade willen!
Levántate para ayudarnos, y redímenos por tu misericordia.
Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.
Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.
