1Dios, hemos escuchado con nuestros propios oídos, nuestros antepasados nos han dicho todo lo que tú hiciste en sus épocas, mucho tiempo atrás.
2Con tu poder quitaste del camino a las otras naciones, estableciste a nuestros antepasados en el lugar que les pertenecía; derrotaste a las naciones y enviaste a nuestros ancestros a ocupar la tierra que les habías prometido.
3No conquistaron la tierra con sus espadas; no fue a través de su fuerza que ganaron la victoria, fue por tu fuerza, tu poder, y tu compañía, porque los amabas.
4Dios, tú eres mi rey. ¡Nos diste victorias en nombre de Jacob!
5Solo a través de ti podemos ahuyentar a nuestros enemigos. Solo en tu nombre podemos derrotar a nuestros oponentes.
6No confío en mi arco; no creo que mi espada vaya a salvarme.
7Tú eres el único que nos salva de nuestros enemigos; acabas con aquellos que nos odian.
8Dios, te alabamos gozosos todo el día y alabamos tu nombre. Selah.
9Pero ahora nos has rechazado y has apartado tu gracia de nosotros; has abandonado a nuestros ejércitos.
10Nos has hecho correr huyendo de nuestros enemigos, y quienes nos odian se han llevado todo lo que han querido.
11Nos has entregado como una oveja que va al sacrificio; nos has escatimado en frente de las otras naciones.
12Has vendido a tu propio pueblo por el precio de nada, no haciendo ni una sola queja al momento de la venta.
13Te has burlado de nosotros en frente de nuestros prójimos, somos ridiculizados y burlados por todos los que están a nuestro alrededor.
14Nos has vuelto un chiste para las otras naciones; sacuden con fuerza sus manos ante nosotros.
15Somos humillados el día entero; escondemos nuestras cabezas por la vergüenza,
16por todos los insultos de las personas que se burlan de nosotros, porque nuestros enemigos vengativos están justo detrás de nosotros.
17Todo esto nos ha pasado incluso aunque nunca te olvidamos; no hemos sido infieles a las promesas que nos has hecho.
18No nos hemos alejado de ti, ni en pensamientos, ni en acciones.
19Pero tú nos aplastaste, y nos convertiste en guarida de chacales. Nos has cubierto con la oscuridad de la muerte.
20Si hemos olvidado el nombre de nuestro Dios, o hemos adorado a otros dioses,
21¿No lo sabría Dios, siendo que él conoce los pensamientos de todos?
22Pero por tu culpa nos matan día y noche. Somos considerados solo como ovejas listas para el sacrificio.
23¡Despiértate Señor! ¿Por qué estás durmiendo? ¡Levántate! ¡No nos des la espalda por siempre!
24¿Por qué apartas tu vista de nosotros y no de tas cuenta de nuestra miseria y sufrimiento?
25Caemos arruinados al polvo, nuestros cuerpos caen de cara al mugre.
26¡Levántate! ¡Ven y ayúdanos! ¡Sálvanos por la gracia de tu misericordioso amor!

1Al Músico principal: de los hijos de Coré: Masquil. OH Dios, con nuestros oídos hemos oído, nuestros padres nos han contado, la obra que hiciste en sus días, en los tiempos antiguos.
2Tú con tu mano echaste las gentes, y los plantaste á ellos; afligiste los pueblos, y los arrojaste.
3Porque no se apoderaron de la tierra por su espada, ni su brazo los libró; sino tu diestra, y tu brazo, y la luz de tu rostro, porque te complaciste en ellos.
4Tú, oh Dios, eres mi rey: manda saludes á Jacob.
5Por medio de ti sacudiremos á nuestros enemigos: en tu nombre atropellaremos á nuestros adversarios.
6Porque no confiaré en mi arco, ni mi espada me salvará.
7Pues tú nos has guardado de nuestros enemigos, y has avergonzado á los que nos aborrecían.
8En Dios nos gloriaremos todo tiempo, y para siempre loaremos tu nombre. (Selah.)
9Empero nos has desechado, y nos has hecho avergonzar; y no sales en nuestros ejércitos.
10Nos hiciste retroceder del enemigo, y saqueáronnos para sí los que nos aborrecían.
11Pusístenos como á ovejas para comida, y esparcístenos entre las gentes.
12Has vendido tu pueblo de balde, y no pujaste en sus precios.
13Pusístenos por vergüenza á nuestros vecinos, por escarnio y por burla á los que nos rodean.
14Pusístenos por proverbio entre las gentes, por movimiento de cabeza en los pueblos.
15Cada día mi vergüenza está delante de mí, y cúbreme la confusión de mi rostro,
16Por la voz del que me vitupera y deshonra, por razón del enemigo y del que se venga.
17Todo esto nos ha venido, y no nos hemos olvidado de ti; y no hemos faltado á tu pacto.
18No se ha vuelto atrás nuestro corazón, ni tampoco se han apartado nuestros pasos de tus caminos.
19Cuando nos quebrantaste en el lugar de los dragones, y nos cubriste con sombra de muerte,
20Si nos hubiésemos olvidado del nombre de nuestro Dios, ó alzado nuestras manos á dios ajeno,
21¿No demandaría Dios esto? porque él conoce los secretos del corazón.
22Empero por tu causa nos matan cada día; somos tenidos como ovejas para el matadero.
23Despierta; ¿por qué duermes, Señor? Despierta, no te alejes para siempre.
24¿Por qué escondes tu rostro, y te olvidas de nuestra aflicción, y de la opresión nuestra?
25Porque nuestra alma está agobiada hasta el polvo: nuestro vientre está pegado con la tierra.
26Levántate para ayudarnos, y redímenos por tu misericordia.

1We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
2How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
3For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
4Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
5Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
6For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
7But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
8In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
9But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
10Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
11Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
12Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
13Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
14Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
15My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
16For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
17All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
18Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
19Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
21Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
24Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
26Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies’ sake.
World English Bible
1We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
2You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
3For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.
4God, you are my King. Command victories for Jacob!
5Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.
6For I will not trust in my bow, neither will my sword save me.
7But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
8In God we have made our boast all day long. We will give thanks to your name forever. Selah.
9But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
10You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.
11You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
12You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
13You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
14You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
16at the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
17All this has come on us, yet we haven’t forgotten you. We haven’t been false to your covenant.
18Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,
19though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god,
21won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
22Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
23Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
24Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
26Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.
